3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours copper with little head and many minute suspended particles. Mild floral light caramel and toasted malt aroma. Juicy malt flavor with soft British hop character. Decent body and mouth feel for such a low alcohol ale. Maybe bland by American standards but still a balanced quality ale.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma is dull, stale bread. Palate is watery, but fills the mouth satisfactorily. Flavor is raw potato with weak caramel malt. Very earthy taste.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pouring a bright copper body with a creamy off-white head, the nose is dominated by the earthy, herbal hops, although the underlying, sweet caramel malt is quite detectable. It’s got a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, light on the carbonation side. The flavor is a rich, caramel & toffee malt with a sprinkle of crushed nuts and a healthy dose of hop bitterness. The finish is lightly bitter-sweet. Quite nice.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet, pungent, warm hops in the aroma (fuggle). Very fruity, toffee-like malt. Rather sweet and fat on the palate(most likely emphasized by the hop varietals) and this overwhelms the rest of the flavors that include the hop mentioned in the aroma and the toffee-like malt. Orangey amber in color with a constant rise of smallish bubbles and a thin, almost soda pop-like head. Very pleasing as an English-style bitter but could use more bitterness to make it more drinkable. It is a bit weighty and I believe it could be cumbersome to drink more than a couple.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Strange aroma. Clear golden color. Almost zero head even with an aggressive pour. Tastes more like an amber than a bitter to me. Weak malty backbone. Unoffensive and drinkable but overall, very very average. After the 6er is gone, this won’t be purchased by me ever again. Especially at $8.49(25% mrgn). What a rip off for a mediocre beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lots of hops for a bitter. Aroma of a fruity ipa. Dark red color. Taste of bitter hops, some fruit as well. I am surprised to see this classified as a bitter. While drinking it I was sure it was a pale ale.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
2005 bottle from Julios consumed 5/28/2005 at OldGrowth’s BBQ. Crystal clear pour, per usual from these guys, with a small light beige head, not long retained, with no lacing. Color is auburn-amber. Light notes of cream and hints of dry bitter hops in the nose, no real flavor, just earthy-like dryness and some fruity yeast notes. Flavor is initially lightly sweet, with some base malts and then a hops bitterness, dry and boring, with no flavor other than a passing, dry citrus. Hard, filtered mouthfeel, fizzy, uneven, forced carbonation, little complexity, bit thin on the end, with a medium-light body overall.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted in Toronto. Obtained in Boulder Colorado. 650ml, tasted in dimpled mug. Appearance is deep rust colour, almost ruby. Very little head after the initial pour. Aroma has elements of caramel sweetness, butter toffee flowered hoppiness. Flavour is close, but does not live up to the aroma. Starts off like a butter toffee candy, but doesn’t finish as rich. Sort of a mellow subtle sweetness with a watery backing.
