changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2008 While this is a simple brew I enjoyed it quite a bit. Clear copper color with a thin head. Aroma is malty and grassy with traces of fruits. There’s really not a ton of flavor but it’s nice on the palate with light caramel and soft floral bitter hops with a silky finish. Nice. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 11, 2008 [1499-20080617] 12floz bottle. Dusty citrus hops and grains aroma. Slightly hazy, dark amber orange body with a quick off-white foam. Old leafy dust flavour has a generic citrus hops note. Medium body. Showing a little age (though it was bottled 06-22-07).
(w/ jerc) MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Aug 10, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Pre GBBF Tasting Golden brown with a thin off white head. Reasonable balance of mildly sweet bready malt and some grassy and spicy hop. Faint bitterness in the finish. Drinkable but seriously lacking character. beerchugger (285), Colorado, USA Aug 9, 2008 Has aromas of hops and some spice. The head retention is disappointing but the flavor is rather interesting. It tastes of carmel, some spices and a little hoppy. It’s mildly complex, but nothing terrific. msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Aug 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours clear copper with thin off-white head. Aroam is mild floral hops, caramel malts and some light spices. Flavor has light hop punch with caramel and sweet malts with touch of spice. Nice refreshing brew based with caramel flavor and light hop bite. Nice session ale. OleR (2007), Oslo, Norway Aug 7, 2008 12 oz Bottle@Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg. A thin filmy foam over an opaque, golden brown colored body. Rich aroma of cream-caramel and fresh tropical fruits. Taste is sweet caramel/toffee balanced by a sharpish, fruity hop bitterness. Medium-bodied. Sweetish malts and a more gentle bitterness in the finish. A very nice one, suitable as a session-beer. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Aug 6, 2008 Updated: Sep 12, 2008Taste 8/8 bottle (4/08 brew date). Looks: Nice iced tea color that I associate with ESB. Aroma: Sour/sweet grain. Very mild floral hop freshness. Taste: Thin to medium bodied. Very mild hops, just a little spice. Yeasty and a little sour. Mild must. Creamy for an esb. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a fuzzy tea color, with fluffy white head and spotty creamy lacing. Sweet molasses covered oats in the nose, brown sugar, some distant grainy corn. Smooth malt essence in the flavor, fairly rich, such as caramel and some sweet candy-like notes. Very good. Drinkable and so smooth, yet crisp and refreshing.
