Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

(draught) Medium-dark amber with off white head. Mosly malt aroma with a hint of hops. Flavor is caramel malt, hint of sweetness with some hops.

poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Aroma is lacking, but then again, I just had a hefe. A little hint of grass in the nose, maybe from the hops. App is very clear for an ale, nice dark gold color, not quite red. Small head that dissipated quickly. Slightly bitter in the taste, low hop aroma. I’m not sure what they were shooting for here, but it’s an ok beer. Not very malty, not very hoppy, not dark, not light. I’d drink this if there wasn’t anything left, but I’d ask twice if they was anything else.

I thought that this was a good beer although it wasnt really an esb but more of an amber ale in my humble opinion. Good aroma and notes of sweet bitterness come off the pour. The taste is hoppy with a hard finsh that stays with you for a little.

This is a really nice ESB beer. It has a nice taste of caramel and hops. It is amber in color. I will be drinking it again.

Pours light brown. Aroma is hoppy with a bit of sweet maltiness. Tastes of caramel and hops, but nothing too special. Great beginner beer, and I would drink it again.

Caramel malts with some spicy hops, with hints of pine. Pours amber with a white head. Caramelly, sweet crystal malts, with spicy hops. Good ESB, makes a good session beer!

Pours clear amber with a medium sized white head. Aroma is malty with a touch of hops. Hop and malt flavors balance nicely, however neither is very outstanding. Mouthfeel is good. Ok beer.

Pours clear light bronze with a soapy light tan head. The aroma has caramel malt, light hops, a touch of sourdough and some cane sugar. Medium / light crisp body with gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with metalic caramel malt and some non-descript bitter hops. The finish seems oxidized, but it has a fairly fresh bottling date. Fair.
