cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA May 2, 2008 Rich copper pour with a thick, lasting head and good lacing. Semi-sweet caramel aroma with notes of cereal and floral hops. Balanced beer that is quenching with a light dry quality. Medium to thin in body, it’s an easy drink. A fair amount of nutty grains and caramel in the flavor along with fresh buttered bread. There is an abundant floral and grassy hop flavor as well. A nice every day bitter that I really enjoy. restless7 (104), Lenexa, Kansas, USA Apr 30, 2008 BOTTLE: 46F. Nice copper color with thick foamy head, slight lacing. Aroma is a bit hoppy with a hint of sweetness. Flavor is pretty good, like a hoppy brown ale more than a bitter. In fact, it’s not very bitter at all. Palate is lively with a dry short finish. Nice drinkable ale unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Apr 27, 2008 Ripe citrus aroma, with some floral hops coming through as well. An appealing taste of many different fruits at the center of this beer. Malt profile is slightly chewy, this is a well balanced beer that you can really wrap your palate around. Satisfying with a ingratiating lingering aftertaste.
mickeya (3), USA does not count Apr 26, 2008 Good beer, especially if you like more carbonated, fizzy ambers. Very drinkable and light. darkstar (69), Eureka, Missouri, USA Apr 25, 2008 Very nice ESB. Better than I thought. Not quite as good as Schlafly Winter ESB, but still pretty damned good. . Pours a small head that refuses to disappear. Nice balance between the floral hops and malts. Maybe a bit spicy. I like it and was pleasantly surprised. blipp (1617), Newark, New Jersey, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange with a fluffy off white head. Aroma is floral hops, and sweet caramel, maybe even a hint of brown sugar. Medium body. Flavor is floral hops and caramel, and has a slightly metallic note in the finish. Not that bad, but not great. scottyw (46), Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA Apr 22, 2008 Pours a frothy, average head...brown to amber body. Light, sweet initial flavor with not much finish.
Very smooth. light hops in the nose, some malt on the tongue. All in all, a good brew, but still nothing exceptional. NJBeerman013 (761), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle. One of the few Non English Bitters that is actually quite good. It is a very well balanced beer, containing a good bit of woody hops and an almost caramelly sweetness. Solid drink.
