roebuck (44), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 7, 2008 Bottled at Palm Tavern. Pretty good bitter. Hard to see color as it was bottled with no glass to use. Reminded me of everything I wish Fat Tire was. ELab2 (38), USA Apr 7, 2008 Very nice balance between the malt and hop flavors. Just a hint of bitterness on an otherwise very clean finish. Aroma is rather mild. Not exceptional in anyway, but still good. jrmac (210), USA Apr 4, 2008 A good beer. Well balanced. Nothing out of the ordinary craft market, but perhaps a better value. McGarnigle (301), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 2, 2008 Updated: Apr 3, 2008Nice sessions amber ale. Balance of hops and malt, medium body, kind of fizzy. I can’t say I would be able to pick this out of a lineup, but it is rightly balanced, neither under-hopped nor impinging on IPA territory. clasley (153), Arkansas, USA Mar 30, 2008 355 ml bottle. Pours a cooper tinted amber with an adequate off-white head. Caramelized malt filled nose with little, if any, hop presence. Medium, somewhat sweet body. Malt predominates with notes of caramel and toffee and a touch of nuttiness. A well balanced dosing of hops rounds out a very drinkable offering. scrizzz (1246), kirkland, Washington, USA Mar 20, 2008 fluffy ice cream cone sparse head, earthy pine hop aroma. clear amber. heavy water, sweet base, clean bitterness, finishes slightly metallic. low carbonation, mouthfeel like a cask. FleeVT (40), Boca Raton, Florida, USA Mar 12, 2008 12oz. brown bottle with bottled on date.
Beautiful clear amber with a nice 2 finger head that shrinks down to about half it’s size with nice window lacing. Citrus and hops, mostly on the nose. Slightly nutty aroma in the finish. The palate has the same characteristic with the addition of a mild malty taste. All of these flavors are muted. It’s Difficult to describe, as the flavors are all there, but not in a big way. The beer isn’t watered down, just muted. It’s got great balance. This could be a great stepping stone beer for that special someone who is reluctant to try micros. And, dare I say, session beer? travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Mar 12, 2008 Copper color. Small head. Hoppy aroma with a little malt. Bitter with dry hoppiness in the taste. Not my favorite beer from Left Hand.
