Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

A fairly standard ESB. Aroma was light...hints of caramel malt. Pour was a light copper with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was very malty and thin..caramel and pale malts with just a hint of hops in the aftertaste after the swallow. Not very strong in any category.

Pint at Pickels Pub in Emmaus, PA - delightful alternative to IPA. Disappointed at the $32 price for a case.

Memphis-Bottle. This was a while back but I remember the surprising malt profile. The pale amber color and thin nose did not heed warning about the complexity that dwelled within.

12oz. bottle into pint glass. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is heavy of grapefruit, lemon and hops. Flavor is of grass, lemon, and hops with a bitter aftertaste. Has a light, refreshing mouthfeel. Not bad.

Says in the description it is supposed to "have significant hops character." Failed to notice it signifcantly but it was there. But overall pretty good, nothing bad to say about it at all.

Nice light hoppy aroma with a nice dark amber color and a nice head. A great slightly bitter hoppy finish and a smooth aftertaste. I really enjoyed this beer!

Taster - 99 Bottles - Federal Way, WA.
Aroma – Light malt no real hops aroma
Appearance – Copper, clear with a light head
Flavor – Light bitter with mild malts and light hops
Palate – Crisp, light a very mild ESB
Overall –Sorry missed the ESB boat. This was very mild to taste neded more bittering hops or time in the tanks with hops in them. Too fast to produce.

Cloudy orange color with a quickly disappearing offwhite head. Faint funky aroma. Some earth and fruit aromas. Nutty smells as well. Some bitter hop flavors. The hops remind you of the style for sure. Slight sweetness. Would love some more malt to balance out the bitterness.
