Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Smells of bitter hops with a faint skunky smell. Pours a very hazy orange/amber color with a medium white head. Taste is half bitter half sour hop notes with a fizzy feel and a slightly watery finish. Not a fantastic bitter, but not terrible.

Amber with nice off white head. Aroma was hoppy with citrus accent and some light rye. Flavour is full, rich and bitter at the finish. Quite smooth on the palate throughput.

Bottle. Amber/orange color. Head is about 3 centimeters and creamy, but fades after a couple of minutes. The color of the head is off-white. Good lacing. Smells of fruity/citrus hoppiness, apricot, sweet caramel and some yesty sourness. I really like the smell of cascade hops. The taste is fruity, mostly citrus, but also some more sweet fruits and caramel/toffee. Nice smooth finish with moderate bitterness. Medium body and light carbonation. High drinkability and a good session ale. One more please!

Bottlepours a slightly hazy light orange/amber witha small quicksandy colored head. Malty woody aroma with some carmel notes as well. Flavor is woody, apple cider and sweet caramel malts. Slight hop bitterness and a soft carbonation witha smooth body. Nice ESB.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy off-white head leaving lots of lacing. Fruity, slightly malty nose with dried fruit, apricots, toffee and a hint of smoke. Malty taste with dried fruit, apricots, caramel and toffee. Balanced notes of spicy hops in the finish, but not very bitter. Doesn’t really rock my world, but a balanced and very drinkable brew.

Clear, dark golden-amber body with nice carbonation. Small, fluffy, off-white head that settles to a 1mm film. The aroma is very toasty and grainy, with roasted caramel malts in the background. The flavor shows biscuit, toffee, caramel malts, and a decent amount of floral hop bitterness. There’s also a faint spiciness in there, and some mild light fruit. The body is just on the light side of medium. Smooth and easy to drink. Decent brew, but I found it to be a little boring. Nothing special here.

Cold 12 oz bottle: Pours a clear medium to dark orange color with a small amount of alabaster bubbles around the edges. Aroma is of rich malts and honey, with notes of fruit. Taste is of right malts and subtle earthy hops with notes of honey and fruit. Light to medium bodied and smooth with ample carbonation. Ending is clean and lightly sweet.
