Small, fluffy, off-white head that settles to a 1mm film. The aroma is very toasty and grainy, with roasted caramel malts in the background. The flavor shows biscuit, toffee, caramel malts, and a decent amount of floral hop bitterness. There’s also a faint spiciness in there, and some mild light fruit. The body is just on the light side of medium. Smooth and easy to drink. Decent brew, but I found it to be a little boring. Nothing special here. LyndaNova (493), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Cold 12 oz bottle: Pours a clear medium to dark orange color with a small amount of alabaster bubbles around the edges. Aroma is of rich malts and honey, with notes of fruit. Taste is of right malts and subtle earthy hops with notes of honey and fruit. Light to medium bodied and smooth with ample carbonation. Ending is clean and lightly sweet. SuzyGreenberg (1324), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Bottle. Pours nearly clear copper with a thin but lacy off-white head. Fruit and herbal hop aroma with nuts in there somewhere. Body tending to light, with active carbonation. Initial malty sweetness, then a nutty quality which seems to go watery/grainy just before the dry bitter finish. cheapdark (2015), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Sep 9, 2007 OK, I was expecting some kinda APA or IPA when I read the label. Now I see it’s a bitter. Clean yeast beer aroma with a little hop fragrance in there. Looks like iced tea with a little haze, but it is more on the orange side than brown. Initial flavor does have some hops in there but it is well controlled an not overwhelming. I can taste a little hint of chocolate in there. Has decent carbonation that I welcome. Some hop bitterness does begin to build on the back of the throat throughout the session. Not as good as the notoriuos Wychwood Hobgoblin which I gave a 3 or Great Divide HotShot ESB but certainly better than Morland Old Speckled Hen. Slight medicinal lingering bitterness on the finish. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2007 Hazy amber going toward orange. Tight honey yellow head. Aroma of an IPA. Head retained and laced all the way down. Bitter, with caramel malts. Low alcohol. This is the biggest tasting small beer I’ve ever had. Flavorful character. Light a maibock with a lot of hops added. Slight conditioning sting; but not bloating. Thin mouthfeel. Leaves a resinous palate. Solid brew. rickgordon (3285), Göteborg, Sweden

Copper colour, big frothy head. Tea-like hops in aroma. Rounded mouthfeel, with wood, teabags and bit dry with a touch of toffee lurking. Flavouring hops were added generously. Very American. scania (184), Malmö, Sweden
