jhliesen (403), West Melbourne, Florida, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle-A solid ESB, kind of like that .270 left fielder that hits 18-22, never an all-star, but still better than most and someone you wouldn’t want to go without. The beer is a soft copper color with a medium head, large in comparison to other ESB. There is a large amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma is caramel an bready. The taste is biscuits and malts with both coming into focus as the brew warms. The finish is smooth and enjoying. Special pour and rate. Produce Place 1.49 DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 30, 2009 Faint biscuit and caramel aroma. Appearance is a clean amber, nil head. Flavor is very pleasant with a nice biscuit-caramel and mildest hops. Its really easy drinking smooth, not too effervescent xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Apr 16, 2009 12oz bottle. Clear amber with large off-white head and lacing, rocky head. Aroma is slightly sour, sweeter with caramel. Flavor is much the same with that caramel sweetness, dry. Medium and light carbonation. Not all that interesting. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2009 Bottle Pours a hazy golden with a good off white head. The head is airy and last okay. Has a good mixed aroma. Hops and malts seem to balance each other out. Has an oily texture. Good carbination. A pretty good mouthfeel. The flavors are very well balanced. A light body. A very drinkable beer. I like it. HighlanderOne (538), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Mar 29, 2009 Poured from bottle. I smell caramel, vanilla ice cream. Clear amber, persistent tan head. Malts beat out hops in the flavor, giving a nice creamy feel with a hop aftertaste. Will not be confused with an IPA. Low carbonation gives it a smooth feel. Finished nicely. Unique and good. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Mar 28, 2009 A bit better than the other ale in the variety pack. Enjoyed the balance of hops and malt. None of the overwhelming excitement of a great ale, but drinkable.
