3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kyzr (1140) - Belgrade, Montana, USA - MAY 30, 2003
Great deep copper color with an off white head. Wonderful roasted malt and hop aroma. Flavor was a little lacking, I thought it was just missing something. It had nice bitter to it, but the balance between the malt and hop was off somehow.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Wiseblood (700) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 20, 2003
Warm copper color with a large head that lasted. Has a fruity aroma that is also apparent in the taste. Somewhat sour, noticeable grapefruit flavor. Starts out sweet, but has a bitter, dry finish. Overall, a complex brew with appealing nuances.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gusler (2654) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAY 10, 2003
As it slips from the bottle into my glass a glistening copper color, the head median in size, spumescent in texture and the color a winsome light tan. All malt is the nose, crisp, clean and fresh with the start somewhat sweet, the top light to medium in feel. Finish has specific acidic bite, the hops lenient in their spiciness, quite dry and a decent beer for the forth coming hot summer afternoons.

Good, not great ESB. Nothing that stands out, but good enough. If you're familiar with Rogues Youngers Bitter, this is kind of a watered down version.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Panzuriel (1080) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAR 30, 2003
Nice deep copper color with a good head. Nice citrus and acidic aroma. Sweetly acrid taste. Good flavor of hops that finishes ratehr nicely. A good balanced beer.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 JMerritt (1602) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - MAR 26, 2003
UPDATED: APR 10, 2003 Pours light reddish-orange with a grand frothy head. Aroma is strongly citric (grapefruit), hops, fresh bread dough, and raisins. Malty flavor, balanced well with the underlying citrus. Finish is very mildly hopped, piney, and rather light. Let it warm a little, and you'll notice some cane sugar and gingerbread characteristics as it sweetens a bit. A very fine effort by the folks at Left Hand!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ultraspank (867) - Dublin, Ohio, USA - MAR 4, 2003
Malty nose mixed with spice (ginger). Pours a medium orange copper. The large creamy off-white head is fully lasting with fair lacing. The malty and soft flavor has no acidity and finishes with a nice floral hops presence. The light to medium body is dry and soft. Well done.

This is a very smooth beer and quite enjoyable. It is very simple and easy to drink - which makes it a winner in my book.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 raymow (745) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 26, 2003
Very nice beer. Great color - looks (and tastes) a bit like a red ale. Has a slightly hoppy aftertaste, but not too strong - which I like. I'd definitely get this one again.
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Trappist (284) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 22, 2003
This was a fair to almost good bitter, I prefer Boddingtons bitter, but for an Amrican bitter it was not half bad. Nice and hoppy, some to little citrus.
