voota (754), Melbourne, Australia May 9, 2008 Hazy copper with a pretty small tan head. Really earthy, dry toffee aroma. Some custard, pears too. Nice malty body belies the alcohol strength, a bit salty in the mouthful. Dry, fruity flavour, has lots of those earth tones you can only find in fuggles, it works really well. Toffee flavours and a slight hint of sweetness hit near the finish, which is otherwise fairly quick. A good beer, but I dont think I could drink too much of it for some reason.
MartiniFiend (70), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottle. Dark copper with a medium head.Hop and fruit aroma. Thick to the palate. flavor is a hop start fruit middle and a bitter finish. 502Flavors (188), Kentucky, USA Jul 25, 2008 Dark clear amber pour with a good off-white head. Aroma is mostly sweet amber malt – pretty full aroma – just not very complex. The flavor is thin but sweet – amber malt with a slightly bitter hop finish. Medium to light bodied on the palate without much carbonation. Overall: good, but, on the whole, pretty simple. scooterc (13), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 21, 2008 No real aroma to speak of. Beautiful copper color. Slight hops - not for hop heads. Very sessionable. Juancho (183), New York, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bomber -
Good session beer. Pours amber with a thin whispy white head. It has just enough hops to balance the malt. zeke626 (194), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. Amber body with thin off white head. All I get is caramel malts on the nose along with maybe some nuts. Taste is caramel malts with a hint of nuts and hops. Short, bitter bite in the finish. Nice and drinkable.
