Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Copper color. Small head. Hoppy aroma with a little malt. Bitter with dry hoppiness in the taste. Not my favorite beer from Left Hand.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Nice golden body with quick-receding head. Nice malty and toffee nose. Slightly watery. But nice punch to it. Well-balanced and well done.

Very carbonated, nice fluffy, rocky head atop a peach-amber body. Easy hop aroma, pleasant fruitiness, peach, etc., and lightly mellifluous. Easy ESB/pale ale body, minerally, fruity, nice hoppiness, moderate to light-bodied. Well structured, but restrained flavor. Nicely balanced bitter finish. A great session ESB.

Nice color and an average aroma. Light head that seems to fade fast. Light hops and a hint of sweetness matches the bitterness well. Nothing out of the ordinary but pretty good stuff here.

This beer poured an amber body with a distinct caramel malts aroma. Very little head and very little lacing. smooth, light body with a soft touch of hops.

Deep amber, decent head. Nose is malty, slightly woody/smoky, somewhat citric, interesting mix. Hops are tart and sharp, nice bitterness, followed by plenty of sweet malts. Good.

Bottle. Pours clear copper with a soapy off-white ehad. The aroma is smooth malt and faint earthy hops. The flavor is mostly sweet malt, but not very strong. There are also some earthy hops and a general ashiness that especially comes out in the aftertaste. Not bad, but no tparticulaly satisfying.

Bottled: Had a malt aroma and flavor and went down smoothly. Lightly hopped.
