COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Nope. Beautiful clear copper with white head. Fainty musty odor. The taste is not appealing. Bitter for bitters sake. No real balance. .

Grassy, but with a citrus unperpinning. Body is reasonably traditional, but like prima pils, this is very american.

Almost notes of infection for me, band aid, pineapple, medicinal, not what I was expecting.

Clear amber pour. Small white head. Aromas of caramel, piney hops. Taste is bitter and dry, with a lingering bitter intensity on the finish. Meh.

330ml Bottle No Dates 5.3% @ Earl of Essex 2013/4/17 Very impressive for the style. Crystal caramel malts balanced perfectly with the hops. Good body and carbonation. I could drink this forever. Others weren’t quite so convinced so will have to try again to make sure!

Poured from a bottle. Darker golden color with minimal lacing. Pretty smooth to drink kinda hoppy. Love to support the local company.

Pours a slightly murky light copper with off white head. Nose is malty and a little sweet, though fairly mild overall. Flavor is quite similar to the nose, though hops comes through to balance the malt. Flavor is good, but pretty mild. A little stronger and fuller and they’d have something with this one, but it’s too thin to really grab your attention.

2013 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours a clear but slightly hazy amber brown color with a foamy off-white head and lively carbonation. Not much in the way of aroma, a lite malt and tea bag. Taste is malt and herbal tea with a little sweetness. The bitterness is light and comes through in the herbal taste. Mouthfeel is thin and a little oily with a little bite from the carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear amber with a bright white head. Smells of iron, hard water which is something I dislike very much, that is why I buy filtered water. Taste is the same, small hint of sweet and straw, no hop character detectable. Disliked this brew even though I appreciate the style.

Malty with an earthy hop scent with slight citrus and toasty bread notes.bone colored head and pretty true amber body. malty bread tastes with a nice crisp dry earthy hop notes that fall back on a toasty biscuit flavor. Slight carbonation smooth and dry but a little thin. Not bad
