COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

I donít claim to have the most sophisticated palate. But right now Iím thinking "extremely well balanced" means "semi bland." Itís good though. Any beer I brewed would have too much hops just like when I cook it has too much salt.

This ESB is not too bitter but definitely extra special. Pours a nice amber hue with a decent head retention. Sweet Malty backbone with a smooth finish.

Copper in color, aroma has notes of caramel and biscuits with slight hops. Taste is sweet and malty, with slight bitterness on the finish

Aroma: Sweet and malty, Appearance: Vivid amber/bronze color, beige off-white head with good retention. Taste: Medium sweet and medium bitter; well-balanced flavor. Palate: Medium body, average carbonation, lingering finish. I appreciate that Sawtooth Ale is a beer that can be both complex and simple. If you are searching for intricacies and details in this beer you will find them, or if you are looking to enjoy a handful of beers without being overwhelmed with sensory aspects it is also great for that.

Overall a delicious beer for its style. Enjoyed in a chilled glass last night. Great reddish/brown color with a decent head on it. Finished with a sweet, malty taste that isnít overbearing. Will definitely be having more of these!

Hop forward with a malt backbone. Great amber color with notes of caramel. Solid gateway beer.

Aroma: caramel, bready, cereal Appearance: white frothy head, body is amber and clear Taste: Initial sweetness from malt bill is balanced out with a prominent herbal hop bitterness on the finish Palate: Medium body with a surprisingly thin body. Average to soft carbonation. Overall: A modern take on an ESB, closer to an Amber than a classic ESB. Good session beer

Draft at Pinthouse Pizza. Amber with off-white head. Aroma of malt and bread. Weak malt, caramel, and nut flavors. Not a lot of flavor. Creamy texture. Not very exciting, but itís drinkable.

Nitro version. Nice copper amber color. Not much to the smell but who drinks a Bitter for the smell? Taste is creamy and easy, I really like the mouthfeel of these types of beers.

Clear amber beer with a bubbly white head. A sweet, tangy, malt aroma. Flavour is milder. The same qualities are there and thereís some hoppy flavour coming through as well. It doesnít have the rich, hearty quality youíd expect from an ideal premium/ESB but itís very drinkable all the same. A touch too strong to be as sessionable as they claim on the bottle but tastewise it absolutely is.

More full-bodied than expected. Good aftertaste for ESB, but still a little heavy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
