COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

Nice dark golden color with lots of creamy head. Good bitterness with a smooth finish. Solid beer overall. Make sure to try the nitro.

Tap at Kalahana. Malty, caramel, light hoppiness, light citrus, biscuity. Nice enough but low on interest. Not much aroma at all.

Pours clear, pale copper with a bit of yeasty nose. Toffee and a bit of liquorice from malt against moderate hop bitterness. Not a bad beer but not the best ESB I’ve had.

Bottle from Mitsuya’s. Poured into an English tulip. Clear amber with a nice light tan head. Aromas of toffee, caramel and apricot-like fruit. Slight floral hops as well. Taste is more of the same. Well-balanced. Smooth and crisp finish.

This beer was ok, but I’m just not a big fan of extra bitters, so trying to be unbiased here. Taste is very bitter..maybe even moreso than a barelywine. Flavors of caramel and hops on steroids. Very hoppy like a double IPA, but with half the alcohol content. Has a amber brown color. A better than average all around beer, but not one of my favorites in the Left Hand family.

A superb ESB - full of hoppy overtones. A nice malty taste and pours clear with a tight head in a chalice. Really enjoyable - will buy again.

Bottle. Thick looking amber beer with a strong white head. The aroma is well hopped with oaty and yeastiness, and the flavour is dry with heavy hopped'ness and some maltiness. Overall a nice strongly flavoured bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On nitro at fountainhead. Aroma is muted, malty. Appearance is foamy (nitro) and then a copper tan color. Taste is enjoyable. A good esb.

Bottle. Poured semi-cloudy amber with white head. Good carbonation. Flavor is not very gripping but still pleasant. Muted toffee and maltiness -- very smooth. Good but not memorable.

Pours a clear copper color with a light tan head from a nitro bottle. Smooth Creamy texture. Aromas of toffee and some malt sweetness. Taste the same bitterness in the finish. Very nice as usual from Left Hand.
