Commercial Description:
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

A pretty nice little ale. Not quite to an ESB level, but very drinkable with mild hops.

Warm copper color with a large head that lasted. Has a fruity aroma that is also apparent in the taste. Somewhat sour, noticeable grapefruit flavor. Starts out sweet, but has a bitter, dry finish. Overall, a complex brew with appealing nuances.

Bottle. One of the few Non English Bitters that is actually quite good. It is a very well balanced beer, containing a good bit of woody hops and an almost caramelly sweetness. Solid drink.

I happen to enjoy English ESB’s. I think they are great session beers. This one fits in nicely with it’s balance to that tradition

Clear coppery color, with small, but suitable off-white head. Aroma is clean, but fruity, with hints and dribbles of citrus, grapefruit, fresh and zesty. Taste is zippy, with delicious spritzes of hops that maintain a presence throughout the finish and all through the contents of the bottle. Great balance, smooth, but full of flavor. Normally I turn my nose at ESBs, but this one has style, body, and taste that many lack.

Pretty good beer. Darker amber appearance, with a good size white head. Good hoppy aroma. Flavor stands out very well, although not too much like an ESB. A slight yeasty flavor. Good.

Bottle - Appearance was light red hue with medium reddish-tan head. Aroma was hoppy with sweet malt tone. Medium body with a good blend of sweet and bitter. Short finish, but still very enjoyable brew.
