| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2004 This appeared a clear amber color with about 2 fingers worth of frothy white head. The head quickly died down to a cap of bubbles leaving sparse lacing around the glass. All I can pick up in the nose is the sweet caramel malt. The taste was similar with caramel malt dominating and a slightly fruity sweetness joining it. Even though the finish is slightly bitter the sweetness is still a little excessive. This is about a medium body brew with good carbonation. I easily finished this and could have had another if not for the eventually overbearing sweetness. Overall a decent ESB but there are better choices available. PattyBoy (302), North Liberty, Iowa, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2006 Aroma is faint, but slightly vegetal with some meaty umami notes. Dark amber in color with a quickly diminishing thumb thick white (at start) head. Fore is very light tasting with some bready grain notes, mild honey/apple sweetness and some very faint citric notes. Overall it is pretty refreshing, but has a heavy crispness to it that lets you know that it is no lager. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Bottle. Pours a reddened amber body with a small white head. Nose is toasty malts, light caramel and light hops. Taste is nicely hopped and slightly spicy and earthy . More toasted malts and light caramel or toffee notes also. Body is surprisingly full bodied with a medium-full carbonation feel. Finishes with more earthy and lightly spiced hops along with light bitterness and toasty malts. Minimal sweetness in the finish. Some dry notes during the finish as well. Not too bad! frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA

I have to call this an "easy drinker" as I just swigged down two before realizing I hadn’t jotted down a single note. Pours a bright copper with a large, cream-colored head that (at just above cellar temp) leaves a wicked semblance of lacing. Citric hops and wet dog in the nose above stale, caramel nuttiness. Balanced flavor showcasing those nutty malts with a hint of honey-sweetness before ending with light bitterness. These are good and, like I mentioned, they go down fast.
