2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 oteyj (1939) - USA - MAR 10, 2010
Dark amber pour with a thin white head. The aroma is immediately pervasive in the room, but upon going in for the first sniff, I’m slightly underwhelmed. Notes include biscuit, caramel, citrus hops, and some fruity floral notes. Flavor is sweet caramel and fruity dough with lingering astringency and moderate cereal grains. A slightly floral orange hop presence is there, but in very small quantities. The palate is thin to medium in its body, but decent for the style. Effervescence is low while the finish is semi-dry and a bit astringent.

Buddy of mine just poured this for me. I had no idea on the style of beer and would not have been able to venture a guess. Quaffable but not a ton of personality. Slight hop bitterness. Sharp clean palate. Easy to drink. Bit boring.

Bottle. Caramel malt and orange peel aroma. Golden color with small head. Sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter orange peel hops flavor. Not bad - pretty hoppy.

Pours orange-cloudy-amber with tan head (left pile o’ skulls-like lacing on my pint glass...hmmm.)
Scent is mild pine, sweet fruits, malt.
Taste is just the slightest of bitter...fruits, malt, flowers..
Light, soft, delicate,....good.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear light orange with about a finger of white head. Aroma of pine, caramel malt, and grapefruit. Taste is light bitter. Medium bodied with a suprisingly thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. I would gladly drink this again.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rollinsr (161) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - MAY 23, 2012
Pours a light amber with a hazy glow and a finger of off-white head. Aroma is mostly sweet citrus hops with a bit of a bitter tinge. Taste is a rounded sweet and sour with very little bitterness. Crisp flavor that leaves a bit of citrus tang on the palate. Nothing terribly special but all of the flavors here work well together to create a nice refreshing sessionable beer.

Bottle. Rich, malty aroma; clear dark amber with very little head. Slight hoppy taste at first and then it blooms with a richer, maltier flavor with just a hint of bitterness. Slight, tangy aftertaste which is nice. Dry, with a full feel in the mouth. Good stuff.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Orangey copper colour, hazy, little light tan head. Hoppy aroma - light evergreen, flowery. Delicate bitterness in the mouth. Smooth texture, medium body, delicate finish.

A reddy orange ale, looks about right to me. A fruity (chalky apple) malt nose with a crispy roasted character. A nice, dry bitterness with a definite straw and aged hop quality. Very balanced and drinkable with an not-too-sweet caramel quality.
