Poured from bomber, dark brown, almost black, off brown foamy head. Aroma pungent with smoke of course, burnt malts espresso. Flavour much the same, not a fan of smoked stly beers, this one was strong. Smoked beer lovers would enjoy this one. Overall decent. Skinnyviking (4194), Copenhagen, Denmark

This is not just a normal "smoked porter". There is a huge amount of smoked in here. Aroma and flavor are dominated by smoke and followed by roasted sweet malts. Full body and alcohol is well hidden. My favorite smoked beer so far. CanIHave4Beers (930), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Freaking delicious. Huge thanks to the good people at Left Hand for bringing this to the Des Moines brew fest, particularly the left hand rep who had everyone push me to the front of the line when the bottle got opened! Pours a deep brown with a small head. Plenty of smoke and bacon on the aroma. Flavor is awesome very smoky some deep roasty and chocolate notes compliment, but generally it’s just really smoky and very tasty, the alcohol is particularly well hidden. ketchepillar (498), Des Moines/Grinnell, Iowa, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Dark brown with a thin slowly fading off white head. Aroma of smoke, caramel, wood and sweet roasted malt. Taste of caramel, alcohol, sweet and roasted malt and of course plenty of smoked malt. Some saltiness comes through and the body is semi sticky, but overall a very good example of the style. EHopper (348), Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Probably one of those beers that speaks to some, but not to others. It speaks to me. It says it is smoky and sweet, bright and sour, bitter and smooth, all in a package that is so natural it is like it grew in a tree. I loved it. jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
