4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Its not the best smoked porter I’ve had, but its a pretty solid one. Smoke aromas compliment the roastiness. The subtle acidic smoke flavor is also off set by the chocolate.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle. Poured a dark brown/black with 2 fingers of head and excellent lacing. Aroma was coffee, dark chocolate, and just a hint of smoke. Taste was grainy, coffee, and smokier than the smell with a bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 66cl bottle, consumed 27/10/13. Pours black with a decent, latte-colored head. Aroma is somewhat smoky, quite chocolatey, decent roast, some coffee, some dark fruit, semi-sweet. Taste is quite a lot of smoke, medium roasty, some chocolate and coffee. Not very sweet. Some hoppiness drying up the finish. Full, oily, not much carbonation. I think this needs a bit more with this hype and at this ABV.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark with a brown head. Looks like coffee. The smokiness is obvious in the aroma and the taste. Barbecue sauce almost. Not usually a fan of smoked but this one was pleasant.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from De Molen Beershop, bottled in 2012.
Pours dark brown with a big beige head. That’s a smoked beer for sure.
Aroma is quite simple with loads of smoke, sausage and slight malt.
Taste has dry chocolate, smoke, roasted malt, coffee, bitter hops, raisins.
Medium body and carbonation, dry mouth feel.
Short dry after taste.
Well, this was an interesting mix of styles. Very well balanced and I got a confused feeling regarding if I was drinking a smoked beer or a porter.

Poured deep, dark brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of soft, rauched malt. Medium body, flavour of sweet, smoked malt and liquorice, milk chocolate. Although this is not particularly smoked, there is not a lot else to be discerned.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Man was this flavorful. Smoked malts and other toasted aromas come forth. Nice dark, burnt toast color with a decent head. Average palate with good carbonation. More smokiness but in a natural sense. Too many in this style taste artificial. This was well balanced with the toasted malts and hops. I could not detect the alcohol and this was real easy to drink.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark brown beer, with a chocolate brown head. It is softly carbonated, and has a medium body, and feels silky in your mouth. In the taste there is clearly the smoke that is in the smell. There is a meat flavour, from the smoke in the beer. There is also the taste of coffee from the roasted malts. Both flavours are combining very well, a very pleasent beer, with a good smoke taste, which continous in the aftertaste.
