COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The usually peaceful St. Vrain River snakes out of the Rocky Mountains, winding mischievously towards our brewery. Named after Ceran St. Vrain, an 1800’s trapper and trader in the valley, St. Vrain is our version of a classic Belgian Tripel. Light in color and lightly hopped using Celeia hops, a touch of malt sweetness contrasts the warm spiciness hidden within. What at first appears benevolent can manifest into a mighty serpent in waiting.

Smak och doft av humle, belgisk jäst, koriander, citrus, gröna äpplen med toner av citron, honung och banan. Lagom söt, fruktig, rund och len med en örtig och lite pepprig beska. Gott

Really good beer actually. Problem is compared to all the great Tripples, it’s just ok. Has a lot of good going on, problems are it’s thin for the ABV and has a non traditional look without reason. It’s a very light X3!

The aroma contains banana and hints of compost and interestingly some cocos. Vey pale and clear with a bit to short lived foam. The taste is more sour than expected, not sure if this is intentional or not. Actually the sourness is pretty disturbing so maybe my beer has gone bad. There is however some nice maltiness in the finish. The beer has nice aroma and nice light and dry body it is a pity it is so disturbed by a bad taste.

Pours light cloudy yellow with fairly low white head. Aroma of yeast, honey, light grass, dough, light spices. Taste is balanced honey sweet with surprisingly low alcohol given the ABV. Body is medium and creamy with soft carbonation.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2013 Bottle. Almost clear light golden liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of bread, grain, banana, bubblegum, vanilla, iron, ham and light butter. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of grain, vanilla, banana, ham and iron. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Waaay to sweet and extremely estery. Pretty bad.

Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a white head that quickly settles. Aroma is lemongrass, bergamotte, orange peel, kiwi. Taste is very fresh, with lemongrass, cucumber, orange peel, kiwi, peach, grass. Very nice!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Ar: lots of yeast, good funkiness, basement aromas, earthy, floral, citrus, herbs, spicy, alcohol, hay, bread, pretty true to the style. Ap: hazy golden colour, big white head, lacing. T: distinct sweetness, low bitterness, low saltiness, almost cloyingly corny and not at all as complex as the aroma. P: medium body, almost flat carbonation, warming finish. T: a disappointment.

Barnyard aroma with touches of yeast and citrus. Pours a clear golden with a thin, none lasting, white head and no lacing. The taste is moderately sweet. Sweet fruit, candied sugar, citrus, and a spicy finish. There appears to be an attempt to balance the initial sweetnes with a citrus finish. Medium-light body with crisp carbonation. Overall, not bad, but still too sweet for my tastes.

One of the better tripels I’ve tried and one of Left Hands better beers. 22 oz bottle pours a golden color with a nice head. Hints of coriander and fruit in the nose. Smooth mouthfeel with a hint of spiciness. Careful though, this doesn’t drink like a 9.3 abv beer.
