Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Didn’t pay much attention to this one. Seemed like your typical run of the mill pale ale. Simple with nothing really popping out at you.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 8 June 2011) Golden/bronze colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of apricots, orange peel and toast. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, honey, citrus peel and toast. Medium body, with balanced sweetness and a mild, spicy bitterness. Well balanced and tasty, but not one of the most daring Left Hand beers.

Has a strong, malty, slightly fruity, and surprisingly hoppy aroma, almost more at an IPA than an APA. It pours a clear and typical golden with a fairly thick and frothy white head. Flavor is smooth, malty and slightly fruity, a bit on the watery side but still acceptable. There was almost none of the hoppiness that the aroma promised in the flavor, but there is some in the aftertaste. Texture is fairly smooth and somewhat tingly. Somehow it gets a little better as you drink it. Not Left Hand’s best, but worth a try.

Bottle and served in no-nik pint glass: Pours a clean golden hue with a lasting frothy medium head that left good lacework upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of grassy, herbal, slightly resiny hops with a touch of pineapple and mango esters. Biscuity and some caramel malt with a grainy tone supported by a hint of soapy esters. The taste is a mild pale malt and lower alpha hop character, not anything very daring or forceful. Simple flavor profile that is easy to drink but rather forgettable. There is a light twangy citrus note and hint of rye bread upon the grainy finish. The mouth feel is more of the same, nothing extraordinary but not bad either. It is what it is, a paint by numbers APA that will not offend.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color. Aroma of pine, citrus, floral. Very low aroma. Flavor is citrus and floral hops. A nice touch of sweetness in the finish. A very easy drinking beer, but lacks a bit of that bite that I like in an American Pale Ale.

A clear, golden pour with a white head. It has a mild hop aroma with some noticeable pine. The light body has a thin texture with average carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter with a quick, crisp finish.

bottle. pours a pale orange with a 1 finger white head - which lasts throughout. pleasant floral, grassy, piney hop aromas with some light bread - definitely feels dry hopped. medium body with more earthy bitterness, rye and caramel malts. towards the back of the mouth, it becomes somewhat watered down. the hops really fade towards the finish. they must have dry hopped this one or added most of the hops towards the end of the boil. more malt driven finish with some spicy rye notes. this is a nice, very drinkable, hop forward aromatic pale ale... not sure why the ratings are so low.

Clear gold, foamy beige head. Aroma of orange, grass, grain, tropical sweetness. Taste has a mild bitterness with good citrus sweetness and some grain/grass again. Pretty easy to drink. I really enjoyed it considering I drank it after a few hours of fishing in 95 degrees and sweating my ass off.
