COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Pungent dry hop and rye aroma. Clear, light brown beer, standard US longneck, label looks to be a refugee from an American Idol campaign. An interesting, buttery APA/AIPA flavor. Reminds me a bit of orange cinnamon rolls - caramel, citrus, butter, a pinch of salt, some herbal bitterness. Medium to medium light body, silky mouthfeel. Moderately bitter aftertaste. New Leaf Market.

Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a golden honey color with a thick head that drops back too lace in a short time. Taste is a bitter malt with low hop. Finishes with a nice bitter after taste. A good beer.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours a light golden amber with an extremely transient head. Aroma of floral and lighter pitted fruits. Med body. Flavor is rye spicy with some floral, pitted fruit, and citrus. Very clean and pleasant, finishing mostly dry with moderate bitter.

12oz bottle pours clear copper with gold hues and thin off white head. The modest aroma has some malt sweetness backed up by a mild level of spicy to just vague hoppiness. The taste rolls out various hoppy notes like bland sort of spicy hops, some mild earthy hops and faint floral hops hit before sweet sugar malts surge forward to about midway. The modest and mostly vague hop bitterness mix with a bit of malts taking this into the finish. Meh, so so offering.

keanex (348) - Williamstown, New Jersey, USA - MAY 31, 2012
Poured into a shaker glass from a 12 ounce bottle bottled on 4-26-2012.

A: Crystal clear amber/golden body with big carbonation bubbles and fine carbonation bubbles steadily rising to the thin and creamy off-white head.

S: A decent strength blend of citrus, floral hops, and a slightly earthy spicy character.

T: A bit tea-like up front with a mid-taste spice introduction of rye with a mild citrus and floral finish. Not very bitter, the rye shows through more than the hops. I am enjoying this.

M: Light bodied with mildly fizzy carbonation.

O: This is a solid rye pale ale, I think the rye adds a nice amount of spice to this and it works well.

Terminus (2621) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - MAY 23, 2012
bottle-bottled 2/29/12 leap year beer-pours clear orange with a small whispy white head with good lacing. nose is lite pine, pale grains, lite musty notes-kind of simple not offensive though. flavors of lite hops, sweet malts, slight tarnish note, earthy yet subtle hop flavors. this is a very non offensive pale ale that is actually quite a decent beer. clean ferment but doesnt have that much character to it to make it stand out from the crowd. could be great on cask though.

Bottle. Pours clear copper with a finger of white head, minimal lacing, and light carbonation. Aroma is citrus hop with minor astringency. Taste is fairly bitter, not IPA bitter but certainly a hop presence. This is easy to drink but the palate is not thin like some pale ales. I’ve got to give this a solid score. I think this is a really good representation of the style with an ABV that makes it sessionable. For summer, heck yes.
