Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. Itís strangely satisfying.

Bottle, 12oz. Itís a clear, dark golden beer with an off-white head of moderate size. The aroma is quite floral at first, then pine cones and citrus peel kicks in, but not completely removing the floral, rose-like scents. Some spiced hints in the flavor, with roses, citrus peel and pine cones. Full body, quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Thereís a lasting bitterness in there as well. Not sure if I like the floral touch, but itís a decent beer anyway. Quenching. 130821

Bottle @ home, bought at De Bierkoning, shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy almost pale orange color, medium sized white head that disappears fully within a couple of seconds. Aroma of malts, some hops, a bit oxidised so I guess itís a bit old. Taste malts, lightly hops, lightly bitter. Nothing fruity really, and again a bit old. Or maybe it has been in the store in the light for too long. So all things considered: I think itís a decent APA when itís fresh, but now itís not that good. Too bad.
