Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

clear orange pour, very carbonated, weak lacing. Aroma is actually pleasent with carmel, vanilla, bready malts. Taste is not so nice. Very bitter finish, flat taste with not much going on really.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear golden, airy head. Light aroma of tangerine and butter. Fairly lighjt bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. A bit sweet and grainy. The mild tangerine hops are followed by a really bitter finish. A straightforward, almost nondescript pale ale.

Golden blonde pour into thin off-white foamy head that slowly dissipates into melting lacing. Aroma of malty spruce and grapefruit. Initial flavor of peppery hoppiness that slowly fades into bitter, lightly toasted rye bread.

Poured light golden with no real head. Aroma of floral hops. Flavour is smooth, medium body feel and sweetly floral with understated maltyness. Not much aftertaste. Disappointingly average.

Light, spritzy and effervescent. Bready and toasty malt flavors. Mild hop notes. Mild to moderate bitterness. Not particularly memorable, but very sessionable.

12oz bottle from Binny’s Lakeview. Pours a clear, golden-copper colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is florals hops with a bit of a rye spice. Touches of lemon and a hint of toasted caramel. Flavor is similar. Floral lemons with a light rye spice, a light bready toast, a bit of a caramel note, and a slight papery hint before this finishes pretty dry and moderately bitter with a hint of toasty caramel and lemon. Medium length aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, an alright pale ale. Some toasty caramels and a good amount of floral hops with a light rye spice. Eh.

Bottle. Nose lightly floral, lightly piny hops with some really meaty pungent notes, herbal dankness. Orange body with a short white head. Caramel and earth in the lightly grainy body, semi-dry with low bitterness, body is a bit too full for an APA and the hops a bit too muted. Light spicy tone underneath.

On tap Blackthorn Pub, Holly,MI...nice crisp session ale with some rye spiciness. This was a good starter on a night of tasting at the Left Hand tap takeover.
