Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Bottle. Pours golden with small head. Aroma of caramel, peach and tropical fruits. Caramel malt sweetness with fruity peach aromas. Meidum-low bitterness in the finish. High carbonation. Medium body. Aroma is too weak. A bit boring.

Bottle from Kris Wines, London. A mildly fruity hop aroma, not much depth of flavour.

Poured from the bottle into a Samuel Adams glass. The pour produced a crystal clear, light amber body with a rocky white head of foam, which diminished fully with some moderate lacing (The clarity of the brew gave me pause, thinking this might be a watered down ale). The aroma of the ale was yeasty, with light hop notes. A medium mouth-feel, with crisp carbonation. The bitterness of the hops is the dominant taste, making this a dry ale, with some hint at the sweetness of the malt. As advertised, there is some note of spice in there, though I think it would be quickly muddled if served any colder than the suggested temperature (my sample was at 57.5F). A little bitter for my liking (not much of a hop-head, sorry), though not bad.

Bottle. Clear yellow gold body under a small frothy white head. The nose is fruity and floral with some light tropical notes and a minimal malt impact. The flavor is slanted toward the tropical notes, minimal bitterness. The malt base is rather thin and weak, and it comes across as rather watery. Light bodied and thin with soft fizzy carbonation. Not into this one all that much.

Nothing to write home about. Average ale from local brewery. Not enough hops or malt to get ya excited.

Bottle from Mitsuya’s. Golden orange color with a modest eggshell colored head. Light aromas of citrus and malts present. Light to medium light body with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Well-balanced but almost too much so. Quite a boring simple beer.

Bottle. Pale gold with a thin head. Yeasty, sweet, thin, without a lot to get excited about, with a bitterness that tends more towards off-putting than appetizing.

Pale yellow color, I don’t get any off flavors. It is crisp, floral beer and a little spicy hop finish. The soft mouthfeel kills the crisp floral aspects of this beer at the end, though.

Bottled. Poured clear medium golden with a short, sticky white head. The aroma picked up sticky pale maltage and grains with mostly vegetal notes accenting.. not all that good. The flavor found semi-sweet honey and crusty bread at the core.. some piney bitterness and more vegetal notes around.. finished sticky-sweet with moderate bitterness. Light-medium bodied with an OK feel and flow.. drinkable, but not that good.
