COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Bottle. Clear, golden with minimal head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine..very hoppy with little malt backbone. Flavor is slightly soapy and a touch herbal. Nothing too special here. Some light biscuit in the tail end of the finish..

Draught at The Rover, Gothenburg. September 3th, 2011.
Pours clear yellow with a white head. Smells pretty much like a British bitter with big aromas of cream and butter and grassy hops. The beer is smooth but with big notes of butterscotch and grass, something I’m not expecting from an American APA. Nope this doesn’t do it for me.

Clear dark gold pour. Foamy, pale head dissipates quickly to a nice lace. Fair aroma of citrus hops & light malt. Taste is fair. nice hop with a slight malt sweetness. Ends dry and grapefruit bitter.

This kind of sucks. Totally out of balance with burnt and grainy notes but also some citrus. After one sip all I could think was, what the hell?

Had on tap at Dewey’s Pizza in West Chester, OH Clear, light copper with a small one finger head. Earthy hops was the first smell I picked up on. There is a bit of bready malt but it takes a backseat to the hops. Hops dominate the taste initially but once again they are more grassy/earthy rather than citrus. The hop flavor drops off pretty rapidly and there is somewhat of a void afterwards. No real maltiness. Very light mouthfeel. Overall this was an average APA that I honestly thought seemed more British than American. Not sure I would seek it out again.

Tasted on 2/29/12 from a 12oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods Green Hills. Pours hazy orange with an average white head that leaves average lace, and some lacing along the inside of the glass. The nose features some floral, noble-style hoppiness, and light bread malt. The flavor has some nicely bitter floral hops, with a hint of spice, and the same light bread malt. The body is light with average carbonation and a medium lightly bitter floral hops finish.
