Commercial Description:
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our series of "Big Mo" Beers. For as long as people have inhabited Colorado's Front Range, the Twin Sisters have had a strong impact on Colorado residents. The views from atop the 11,428' peaks are breathtaking and afford sweeping views of the entirety of Rocky Mountain National Park. As an expression of admiration we have crafted an ale that exhibits a profound impact all its own. At 11428 IBU's (just kidding), Twin Sisters is a mountainous testament to hops, and that they bring. A feeling of ease and relaxation become apparent for all whom would dare to climb it. So for all that enjoy summiting ales with copious hops additions to achieve a felling of contentment and awe, we offer Twin Sisters Double IPA. Enjoy!

750 bomber, corked and caged, pours a hazy apricot body with a medium beige head that laces well. Some "floaties" noted in the body. Malts dominate the aroma with huge waves of toffee, caramel, and orange marmalade. Body is almost full with a cloying syrupiness. Assertive hops bitterness in the taste is mostly citrus but has some pine sap notes. Malty toffee and orange marmalade are prominent. Just a bit too sweet.

Pours hazy orange with off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and alcohol. Not very hoppy for a DIPA, but I just realzed the bottle is dated 2006 (it just arrived in my local bottle shop so I wonder where it has been??). The hops and malts are nicely balanced. Medium body with average carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel and an alcoholic finish. I would like to try a fresh bottle, but at $12 a pop I think it will be quite a while.

Pours a hazy copper with very little head. The aroma is all citrusey with not much grassy or dank notes. The flavor, however, carries a certain grassy floral character, along with a lightly sweet body and ends on a nice dry note.

Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet grassy, citrusy, and hoppy on an OK malt back ground, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Dark copper/amber, huge white head. Aroma is huge malt and little hop presence whatsoever. Plenty of caramel an dresiduel sugar. Flavor on par, slight oxidation. Sort of a lite BW. Apparently this had a little time on it already.
