4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Good stuff and probably the best I’ve had from this brewery. Great roasted malt aroma. A little sweetness too. Great dark color with mild and amber head. Oily and smooth palate. Nice strong flavor that coated the mouth. Roasted flavors. Maybe some toffee and coffee. Alcohol blended well. Nice one to sip.

In spite of a pretty vigorous pour, a very thin, creamy, caramelized colored head appears atop the opaque, very dark brown color. Chocolate, dark fruit, and light smoke comprise the surprisingly mild nose. Thick, creamy and smooth. Caramel, vanilla, coffee, and dark fruit in the very well-blended flavors.

Gumbo of dark fruits and mocha java. Murky, used oil black. Very sweet taste of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee milk. Any bitterness is in line with those elements. Thick and creamy, has the rough weight of the fat free half and half i use for coffee.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank on 4/5/14 in memory of Kurt Cobain while watching Nirvana unplugged. 12 oz nitro version pours a brownish black with a a thick grayish tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of roasted malt, black licorice, caramel, dark fruit and dark chocolate. Tastes of a the same things in the smell. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy and lightly carbonated. Great imperial stout. I want to try the regular version now for a comparison.
