COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here’s a black ale to brighten your day. Wake Up Dead lurks in our cellars for over 4 months before being unleashed. Hints of raisins, black licorice, coffee and dark chocolate are followed by earthy, herbal hop notes. Any apprehensions about the rest of your day are quickly forgotten, for whatever the mind expects, it finds. Sometimes you’re not in the mood for what everyone else is having.

On nitro on tap and ina mug. Not much on nose and looks well glass was painted clay so don?t know. Taste awesome. Milk/dark chocolate, licorice, and roast coffee with slight alcohol burn and hop presence. Texture velvety smooth, somewhat crisp and suprisngly clean palate finish. Kick butt brew

Nitro version. Mofo of a pour. Lighter on the aroma. Metallic. Subtle roastiness. Looks good. Nitro creamy head. Dark. Like black. Taste is... More subtle than most imp stouts. Metalic and a little boozy and acidic. Palate is good except for acidity. This is a concept that I can get behind. If the roastiness could be bumped up and the acidity down nitro imperial stout could be a good ideal this is a beer I could get again.

Pours dark brown to black with a beige head that dissipates to a thin layer. Aromas of coffee, toffee, chocolate and plum. Flavors are brown sugar, coffee, toffee, and chocolate, with nuttiness and roasty, toasty notes. Slight burnt toast flavor in the finish which I guess would disappear with more bottle conditioning. Medium mouthfeel. Very, very nice.

Left Hand Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout is a big beer with a lot of competition. Aroma is slight bit of raisins and not complex. The beer is very dark as expected but the tan head disappears too quickly leaving the flat liquid. Taste is not quite as out there as you would expect with subtle notes of licorice, raisins, and maybe chocolate and coffee (very slight). The finish is lightly boozy washing away any secondary flavors. Wake Up Dead is good but doesn’t stand up well to the some of the other choices in this category -- nice Halloween seasonal though,

(Nitro bottle) Near black body with a creamy tan head. Bitter chocolates, roast and alcohol comprise the aroma. A straightforward beer, really. Lighter in body than I expected for a double digit and beer. Fairly low carbonation. Soft in the mid palate with bitterness crescendoing to the finish. Lingering booze, warming the throat. Pretty good.

"Raisiny, bitter, black licorice, a hint of smoke...not as smooth as the porter (or as some of the best impy stouts out there) but not too shabby either, just a bit aggressive."

12 oz nitro bottle. Seemed to pour a bit flat but a durable, thick and creamy tan head arose shortly. Full, creamy feel Nutty, dark roasted malt aroma. Rich roasted flavor, with hints of coffee and licorice and a negligible burnt aspect. vExcellent bitter/sweet mix. O: Excellent.

Pours black with small tan head out of bottle. Aroma of bourbon and oak. Flavor of cocoa with smooth vanilla finish with oak. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaska från SB som stått ett par år. En riktigt söt dessert-IS.

Pours a dark brown with a tan foam head. Aroma is wood and bourbon. I don’t get any chocolate or coffee. Flavor is also an overpowering wood and bourbon flavor. Smooth, but not at all sweet. Not a beer I enjoyed sipping.
