4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the 12 fl. oz Nitro bottle with an enjoy by date of 06/08/17. Gorgeous jet black pour with a soft, delicate tan head floating on top. Lacing. On the nose I pick up some dark roasted malts, licorice, Anise and a hint of alcohol. The body is creamy smooth and full. The taste has a nice roasty character with a low to no hop profile and a dryish finish.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Inky black with a thin white head. It has a very rich liquorice and chocolate flavour with spicy red fruity notes on the warming finish. Pretty good but a little too powerful.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark color, light brownish head, the smell is strong on the licorice and coffee, hints of chocolate. The taste is bitter sweet but the bitterness is way over the top! I didnít expect this to be so bitter! This may sound weird but this beer after swallow is a lot like Pliny, thatís how better it is after the swallow.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled Nitro-version: Aroma is hard roasted malts, coffee and dark choclates. Taste is... well letís start with the foam here. Poured right (hard) the foam is absolutely delicious. Supercreamy. Like taking a bit on a chocolate cloud. The beer itself delivers the stuff you remember from the regular version. A somewhat soft mouthfeel, but still potent and heavy flavors of wood, soy, bitter chocolates and bitter coffee. A bit of raisins and dried fruits in here as well.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nitro bottle from LaBodega, black beer, big walnut colored head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, toasted barley. Taste is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, toasted barley, molasses, cookies. Palate is super smooth and nitro rich, carbonation very soft and subdued. This is a great stout, but only average as an imperial stout.
