Here’s a black ale to brighten your day. Wake Up Dead lurks in our cellars for over 4 months before being unleashed. Hints of raisins, black licorice, coffee and dark chocolate are followed by earthy, herbal hop notes. Any apprehensions about the rest of your day are quickly forgotten, for whatever the mind expects, it finds. Sometimes you’re not in the mood for what everyone else is having.

Bottle 330ml. Full marks! Aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, and alcohol. Taste starts sweet, with bitterness taking over slowly for a long finish. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Dark brown, almost black, with a frothy off-white head.

Fantastic dark very full tasting beer. Hints of caramel, smokiness, raisin and even coco. This is my go-to beer when it is available. Powerful taste with lingering aftertaste, this beer is not for everyone, but those that like it, love it. Slight hop hints, stout, and porter flavors all swirled together. Great stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a great imperial stout. The initial taste brings an explosion of coffee, dark chocolate, and a hint of black licorice... All followed by a deliciously hoppy tone at the end. Great beer for a great price!

Opaque in color......creamy head. Smooth aroma with a hint of chocolate. Sweet front, and a very smooth mouthfeel......hard to believe it’s over 10% ABV! A mild malt finish with a slightly chocolate aftertaste.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2013 Black; small lingering amber head. Chocolate malt, molasses, and espresso aroma. Strong, sweet stout, but easy to drink and very flavorful. Quite sweet with some powder sugar, honey, amber malt. Was on tap at PP Carlsbad...I’d like another please! RE-RATE August 5, 2013 From 22 oz bottle...should be a relatively fresh batch...poured in a Great Lakes tulip glass. Pours black with a beige-brown head, has lace. Aroma of milk chocolate and dark malts. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, straw hops, caramel, minerals. Overall very flavorful with minimal negative flavors (e.g. cream of tartar, chalk, wet cardboard, band aid). I’m a impy stout lover and have enjoyed this on tap and in the bottle for years. I’d like to get a keg fridge just to house one of these. Compared to the Yeti and Speedway Stout this is right up there for me...lovely and hearth brew!

A soft brown liquid pours from the bottle with hints of a lighter golden brown on the outside. The scent has a hearty malty character and then attacks the senses with a sweet chocolate flavor. The malts and hops of this beer start you down a rollercoaster of intense flavors!

Pours dark brown with ruby red throughout. Smells like rum soaked raisins and hints of chocolate. Tastes like alcohol (too much), raisins, chocolate, and black licorice. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Left Hand Wake Up Dead Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout finishes with a faint alcohol burn.
