Here’s a black ale to brighten your day. Wake Up Dead lurks in our cellars for over 4 months before being unleashed. Hints of raisins, black licorice, coffee and dark chocolate are followed by earthy, herbal hop notes. Any apprehensions about the rest of your day are quickly forgotten, for whatever the mind expects, it finds. Sometimes you’re not in the mood for what everyone else is having.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2015 UPDATE 3/17- just drank my 3rd nitro bottle from my 4pk. Nice looking beer. Always enjoy watching a nitro settle after a hard pour. Pleasant super smooth creamy flat texture (expected from a nitro). Just not a fan of the taste. After i finish the last bottle i have, I’ll be happy to never drink this again.

Smells of dark chocolate, black licorice, coffee with cream and slight hops. No alcohol at all in the aroma. Pours a nearly pitch black color with a huge tan head. Taste is roasty, a bit too salty like beef bouillon. Also in the taste you get licorice, some dark fruit, sharp hops and an earthy/soil type quality. Slight alcohol burn in the after taste. Palate is too weak for the style. Overall not bad but there are a lot of good imperial stouts out there. I probably wouldn't buy this one again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sample at tasting at Beer & Beyond, Tel Aviv. Deep black with small brownish head. Very rich aroma of milk chocolate, dulce de leche, quite sweet, some prune, faint licorice notes. Very sweet flavor of milk chocolate, raisin, prune, some date honey, somewhat spicy, roasted malt notes and light sourness. Light carbonation, medium to full-bodied. Excellent.

Bottle bought at GBBF 2014, imbibed 03/01/15. Huge disappointment. Expecting a top stout, instead got a bloody marmite beer. I don’t mean a beer you love or hate, but a beer that tastes like bloody marmite. Smells of marmite with a hint of the old Cadbury’s chocolate spread (a chocolate spread available in the 70s/80s before the invention of the hazelnut!)....and it tastes of, yes, you’ve guessed it, marmite (with a hint of chocolate & raisins). Wake Up Disappointed.
