22 oz. bottle purchased @ Ryan and Casey’s Liquors, Greenfield, MA. Tulip shows a deep pitch black with a thin tan head. Light retention. Nose is exclusively chocolate. Medium body with a mild watery texture. The flavor is rather rich, with a nice balance of sweet and roasted malts, chocolate powder and a hint of oatmeal. Finish is mostly drying. Nice sweet stout.

Bottle with friends on Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Pours clear brown with a creamy, beige head. Subtle roast nose with hints of cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, some milky dark chocolate, mild earth, hints of semi-dark fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Modest roasted malts in the finish, some warm chocolate, very light toasty earth bitterness, subtle warmth. Pretty decent brew. Nice, restrained chocolate character.

Merry Christmas - this was a gift. Not bad - tastes more like a porter than a chocolate oatmeal stout, but I would drinnk it again.

22oz bottle from the Lefty’s tasting. Pours a nice black chocolate color, aromas are rich for the style. Super smooth and tasty, the chocolate is pronounced, but a bitter chocolate and the oatmeal portion makes it very easy to drink. Best one from Lefty’s so far.

Bottle from Kimballs. Dark brown body with medium head. Nose of oatmeal, roasty malts and chocolate. Taste is a bit sweet with malts and plenty of oatmeal taste. Also notes of chocolate. Pretty good.

An outstanding version of a difficult brew. Not overwhelmingly chocolaty, bold but not cloying.

amazing full bodied stout, not too sweet, wonderful aftertaste, and very smooth.
