COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An English style porter with a hint of coffee flavors and aromas. This beer is made with Sumatra coffee roasted by Lefty himself.

Brown/red pour with tan head and lace. Sweet caramel, light coffee, and roastiness. Sour malt, mild coffee, light caramel, and a good malt bitter. A bit thin and fizzy. A beer that reminds me of a brown ale somewhat.

22oz bottle-shared @Natifest-pours a dissipating tan head and dark copper color. Aroma is roasty, medium/dark malt, musty/earthy. Taste is roasty, medium/dark malt, musty/earthy ops. Slight coffee after taste. Towards a brown ale.

220z bottle. Pours a solid darker brown color, nice off white khaki head. The coffee isn’t huge on the nose which surprised me a little considering this one is reportedly made with Fogbuster. The palate completely turns the weaker nose around with a more lush smooth coffee, not overpowering, but for the style it does the trick. My second favorite overall from the guys at leftys.

Bottle shared at Natifest ’11. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee dark chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted coffee flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is the complex brew and first that I have had from this brewer.

Bomber from cakanator! Pours a ruddish amber with a 4 finger beige head that starts foamy and coarsens. Aroma is coffee. Med body; frothy carbonation. Man, it is coffee flavor. Not espresso. Coffee. Maybe an underlying chocolate note. But it’s like pretty fresh coffee. Finishes moderately bitter - which might just be the coffee.

home roasted sumatra coffee beans strike the perfect balance in this beer, with a smooth yet not overpowering after taste. A quality brew.

The coffee beans used in this beer are fresh roasted by the brewer himself. It really adds a nice boldness to the first sip.
