Kinz (1894), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Aug 2, 2008 Clear dark amber, slight head. Aroma was sweet, quite fruity, mianly way overripe apricots, with a dark caramel finish. Somehow the fruit in the nose just jumped out a little too sharply. I’m surprised I’m criticizing a "strong" aroma, but it wasn’t working for me. Flavor was similar - more apricot with dark fruits, some Belgian yeast, and an almost cloying sweetness. Some anise also intruded at the end. This one just didn’t do it for me. MaltDawg (287), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 31, 2008 Nice spicey citrus yeast notes in aroma.
