2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 dagimp (464) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2009
From a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours with a half inch of head which dissipates in a couple minutes leaving little lacing. I’m not a fan of the Redish pink color, looks almost like food coloring. Smell is of sour raspberries although I don’t think there are any in this beer. Mouthfeel is medium with a little too much carbonation. Taste is sour with mild hops, not nearly the amount of IBU’s advertised on the bottle. There’s also a strawberry-raspberry flavor to this beer. Overall, not very good at all; I’d avoid this one.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ROGUE (1360) - Newark, Delaware, USA - OCT 23, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a frothy head. Smells of sweet bisquits, hops and some earthiness. Heavy floral hops flavor that is knocked down in bitterness by a nice sweet caramel malt and touch of citrus. Finishes very smooth and the alcohol is well hidden.

Deep amber pour with a slightly off white head and lace. Aroma of brown sugar, evergreen hops and caramel malt. Light brown sugar, caramel malt, and a very nice finishing evergreen bitter. Nice soft carbonation but just a tad thin.

12oz bottle from grape & gourmet. pours a rusty, copper with a solid, light tan head and nice lacing. aroma was good with roasted, nutty malts on top of floral, citrus hop notes with just a hint of toffee. flavor is quite good with slightly sweet, roasted caramel malt and toffee notes up front with a very nice balance of citrusy, herbal, and grassy hops with a bitter, toasted finish. palate is smooth with solid carbonation and very drinkable. overall, although i did not pick up the supposed 110IBUs, this is a solid brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Derek881 (729) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - APR 21, 2009
Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass to drink. The beer was a mostly cloudy amber-copper color with a big, white-tan, creamy head that had a lot of retention and cling. The beer had a predominantly caramel malt aroma with some notes of toffee, and some pine and floral hops. Its taste was sweet and malty with a presence of caramel, and a touch of sourness. The body was wet and creamy with low carbonation and became slightly dryer at the finish. A solid ale, that I enjoyed.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 elihapa (1385) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - APR 9, 2009
Bottle from MA. Pours clear red orange with a good-sized white head. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit and flowers. Flavor is quite sweet throughout, with a nice pink bubble-gum and fruit taste. Hop bitterness never really kicks in, despite the purported 110 IBUs. A simple Ale for sure, but one with enough character to make a nice accompaniment for a juicy grilled burger and fries.) 3.5.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Dark copper color with not much head. Smells like an ESB fruity/floral over slightly roasted caramel. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is fruit hoppy. It finishes decently bitter. It’s a very pleasing ale.

Thanks to Todd for the small sample in jar. Hazy copper pour thick off white head. Fruit and carmel aroma. Small hoppy flavor, but the beer is dominated by caramel malt flavor
