COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wickedly tasty red ale packed with a massive hop flavor and full aroma from dry-hopping with whole flowers. Specially brewed with all European malts and West Coast whole flower hops. The result - a rich ruby red color, lacy collar and a feast of hop aroma!

I had a bottle version brewed by Appalachian for Legacy. Beer had a great hop nose with a hint of crystal malt in the background. The beer was a clear ruby red color. Beer had a tan colored head that was full and clung to the glass well. Great hop flavor and bitterness that is balanced well with the malt flavors. The bottle lists it as a 110 IBU beer which is a huge amount of hops. Legacy used just enough malt and crystal malt that it keeps the beer from being too bitter. This could actually be classified as an IPA instead of an Amperican Pale Ale. I really enjoyed this beer and will be buying a case next week.

Clear amber colour with a small beige head. Malty, light caramel sweet aroma with a floral hoppyness. Malty and caramel sweet flavor with a very hoppy floral and light citric dry finish.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Comes as "Legacy Hedonism Ale". Pours a clear amber with a small, creamy head. Hoppy, aromatic nose. Medium body with plenty of caramel and quite some residual sweetness. Lots of flowery hops on my palate. Very clean and lovely. Thanks to xproudfoot for this one. 150306

Slightly murky orange / red color with a thin off-white head. Strong citrus hops aroma. Nice citrus and floral hops flavor with caramel in the background. Thanks to JHop for this delightful bonus.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2006 On draft Old Eagle Tavern. Pours dark red with thick white head. Nose is floral, piney, and citrusy. Citrus flavor with a solid malty backbone. Surprisingly smooth. Very nice beer. Reminded me of HopDevil

I’ve been drinking this in bottles for months and tonight was the first time I’ve had it on draft. Pour was an amber/copper color with a sticky off-white head. Aroma was pine, citrus, and flwers. Flavors were all of those with a solid carrmel backbone and a huge grapefruit/sticky pine needle finish. I prefer the bottle version to the dreaft. Flavors and aroma were the same, just more intense. Became a big session favorite.

Pours from bottle a muddy reddish brown hue. Produces a hefty and dense white head with thick trails of lacing as the glass emptys. Excellent head retention. Fairly complex aroma profile showing off a nice balance of Northwest hops and medium roasted malts. Quite assertive notes of citrus rind, pine needles, caramel candy and malted cereal fill the nose equally. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy smooth with just a touch of oiliness. Flavors are very well balanced overall. Certainly leans towards the crisp citrusy and piney hops, but a strong showing is noted here from the Sugar Daddy-like caramel and toffee maltiness. Finish is long and bittersweet. Very easy to enjoy a few in one sitting. If you like blanced American IPA’s this one is an American Strong Ale to sample.

A good APA. Nice deep red color and hoopy aroma and flavor. Also has a nice sweetness to the flavor (and an interesting label to boot). Pretty good stuff.

Bottle: Erupted from the bottle with a full head of foam over a rusty and hazy rouge beer. The aroma is of caramel and malt. Rich a full-flavored, this is a full-on caramel malt beer with a nice sunny hop disposition rolling over the top in the middle, and then a stark, sharp acidic finish. Nice. (#3060, 8/18/2007)
