obguthr (707), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Apr 26, 2008 Caramel and dried leaf aroma with pineapple underneath. Tea colored with a medium cream colored head. Undeniable taste of rosehips. Sharply bitter pineapple at the back of the palate. Rather perfumy yet rustic. An ESB with personality. I was shocked when I saw the ABV.
BuckeyeSammy (345), New York City, New York, USA Jul 26, 2008 Amber color, minimal head. Full flavored, malt, hop, caramel, nutty hints. Thicker palate. Not a beer a would look to find again. nearbeer (1103), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 17, 2008 12 oz. bottled May 08. Cloudy, dark copper with a three-finger head that lasts. Spicy caramel, orange-pineapple, and grapefruit aromas. Front flavors of caramel, grapefruit and pineapple, overtaken by a slightly rough finish of peppery-gingery resin with a touch of wood. Medium body is nicely balanced between sticky and watery, a little tingly with hops and warm with alcohol, and finishes dryish. twitcher (121), framingham, Massachusetts, USA Jul 6, 2008 bottle. Pours a ruddy hazy deep red, middling average head. Sweet caramel and earthy fruity bitterness on the nose. Flavor follows the nose- starts with a medium helping of citric bitterness showing mostly grapefruit flavors, then follows with a smooth, sweet caramel maltiness. Palate is a bit on the watery side. Nothing stunning here, but nothing especially bad either. LiebeBier (734), RIchmond, Virginia, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bottle - A unique name and label. There must be a really good story here. I let this beer warm a bit before opening. Amber colored pour with a very nice tan head. Big sweet raisin aroma. Incredibly complex flavor with hints of caramel, cream, tobacco and licorice. A bitter finish where the hops really come out. Perhaps this is called hedonism because the flavors are all over each other. Biddle_Brau (86), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jun 15, 2008 Amber with faint hop aroma and flavor. Palate was medium. Sampled at Stoudts 17th Annual Microfest: June 2008
