’05 bottle aquired in trade by a generous Right Coast RB’er, sorry I forgot specifics. Pours a deep and clear mahogany color. Nice sized beige head forms and fades slowly leaving good residual lacing behind. Deep and broad aromas of prune, plum, leather and modest amounts of oxidation. Full bodied with a pleasant carbonation level. Residual hops still remain strong in flavor, not overdominant, rather a full and balanced bitterness. Malty and pleasant with nice alcohol warmth provided. A bit acidic which is a little distracting but overall nicely done!

22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God. 2006 Vintage. Poured a deep amber color with an averaged sized off whtie head. Lots of suspended floaties. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, chcoclate, and fruity. Tastes of toffee, raisins, plums, citrus, caramel, chocolate, and roast. On the sweeter side. Overall the alcohol was well hidden.

Bottle at Papsø, 2007-vintage. Hazy orange red coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel, hops and pine needles. Sweet flavour of caramel, rye bread, dried fruits and hops with notes of cardemomme. Hoppy finish.

Dark amber/tawny color with a thin, mostly lasting foam. Mostly malt accented nose, with hints of caramel, dough and toffee. Flavor is nicely balanced, very malty sweet, with hints of caramel and toffee, even a confusing hint of spice. Fairly complex and well crafted. It’s a nice offering.

2006 Bomber. Pours a deep, clear orange with a dense tan head. Big nose - I could smell it the second I popped the top. Sweet malt, orange, some resin, deeper scents of caramel and peach, plus a definate alcohol presence. Thick tan lacing. Flavors of orange peel, sugar cookie, sweet malt and an almost tropical fruitiness. Bittersweet finish, and the alcohol warms the throat. Will be interesting to see how this ages.

06 a nice amber pour with a lite lacing. An aroma of sweet fruit. A nice sweet, fruity, warm drink with some bitter that lingers. A smooth even palate. A well balanced beer that is just a wisp away from being excellent.

Pour was a dark reddish color with a tan head. Aroma was of dark fruits (fig, plum dates), caramel malts, and a note of hops. Flavor was sweet caramel malts with just the slightest touch of hops. This was all finished off with a smooth alcohol warming (not much).

Tap. Hazy dark amber pour with a fluffy tan head and spotty lace. Alcohol and dark fruit on the nose. Flavor follows suite with a twist of hops. I really enjoyed this one.

2005 edition shared by Eric. Pours a cloudy brown color with a medium white head. The aroma is very good; very sweet brown sugar and toffee, some slightly sour hints. The flavor is very nice as well; tobacco, huge brown sugar, toffee, dusty, caramel, some oxidation. Very nice. Tasted like a aged English barley wine.

2008 vintage at the richmond beer dig 2011. Clear red pour and no head. Very sweet candi suger with rum and cherry and goodness. This is one of the best legend beers I’ve had. But still has some alcohol to it...
