3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is very nutty with caramel notes.
The beer is medium-bodied, oily, and velvety on the palate. Toward the sweet end but good balancing bitterness.
I had this on tap, and from the reviews, it sounds like tap is the way to go with this one.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bomber from my Secret Santa (Numenor), no date. Pours a clear copper orange with a three finger light beige head. Aroma is of toasted malts and light citrus hops. Flavor is much the same with a slight addition of roasted malts. Lightly bitter finish. A bit thin bodied, moderately carbonated. Not too bad of a beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Whole Foods, Alexandria, Va. - 22 oz bomber. Medium copper pour, good bubble action, thickish khaki colored head. Pleasant baker’s cholocate aroma. Flavor has hints of the same chocolate, some nuts, a smidgen of maple syrup and day old coffee. Thickish mouthfeel. Very decent.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap... poured rich brown with off white head. Alcohol is blended well with sweet malts and nuts. Very smooth and non-abrasive. I can see this one being very seductive and luring one away before you know it. Solid Brew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to Numenor for this one!
A huge rocky head forms above this clear dark amber brew.
Light malt aroma that is repeated in the flavor. An unpleasant sourness goes all through this one and makes it a disappointment. A bit light even for a brown ale, this one needs more nutty malts, a bit of body and to be cleaned up a bit.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at the Tap House in Norfolk, Va. Pours a deep mahogany with an off-white creamy head, 1/8th-inch retention and nice lacing. The bouquet consists of sweet ’n sour nutty aromas. Lots of sweet malt upfront, with a hint of nuts, and a subdued caramel finish. The palate is indistinct and a bit muddy. Although a little on the sweet side for a traditional brown ale, overall the brew isn’t bad.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark amber/brown color with a huge bubbly head. Lots of bubbles trail up the glass from the depths. The aroma is very mild, just a touch of sweetness. Flavor is also very mild with just a touch of nuttiness. A very weak brown ale despite the respectable alcohol level.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mahogany hued with a medium, tan head and a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of molassas and caramel malts. The taste up front is sweet malts with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Medium-bodied, well carbonated, with a long lasting finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft... ODBF2006... Clear, amber ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Malty nose with some nice, light chocolate notes. The flavor is chocolatey as well. A tad on the sweet side of balance. Medium-bodied and fizzy. Finishes chocolatey and mildly bitter. Did I get around to saying anything about this brew being chocolatey at all?
