COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The is a pretty beer almost an amber/brown color. A well balanced beer that is great for the summer months. Unlike the porter, this is the beer that put them on the map.

22oz bottle pours clear bright brownish red with a finger of sudsy head. Nose is molasses, maple, bready, nutty. Taste is a syrupy molasses bomb, slick, dark bread. Finish is a syrupy smoky molasses mess. Pretty bad.

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear light to medium brown with some light reddish hues and a thin light tan head. Aroma is a faint toasty malt with a light nutty sweetness. Flavor is a light nutty sweetness. Body is also light for a brown with little flavor lingering the finish. Drinkable, but nothing fantastic.

JDBaker11058 (1538) - Maryland, USA - JUN 26, 2013
Appearance: medium amber brown, with a short, creamy light tan head. Aroma: nutty and malty, with brown sugar, cola, and molasses. Taste: as the aroma indicates. Finish: prickly and lively, with the slightly sweet and nutty flavors lasting a while. Notes: Unexpectedly great brown ale. Light and vivacious palate, sweet and nutty without being cloying. This was actually very refreshing on a hot summer day. NoVA Brewfest 2013.

On draught at Blue Sky Cafe in the Newport News airport. The beer pours a clear mahogany-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted nuts and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, nuts and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
