The is a pretty beer almost an amber/brown color. A well balanced beer that is great for the summer months. Unlike the porter, this is the beer that put them on the map.

Bottle. Pours murky dark, reddish brown with thick, lasting, off-white head. Aroma. Sweet baked bean-like aroma of brown sugar. Brown-sugary sweetness, with molasses and flavors and gooeyness and a slight burnt-caramel aftertaste. Very little hops, resulting in a lingering sticky sugariness. Malty flavors are tasty, but lacks any semblance of hops for balance.

Large mug off the tap, Aroma- Has a strong malts aroma and maybe a slight coffee aroma at the edges. Appearance- This beer is a dark brown color with red highlights when viewed through the bars neon!! Legend Brown Ale has a white head Taste- Has a really good malt flavor that I didn’t expect. It went down really smooth. Palate- This is a medium bodied beer with a low carbonation with an oily feel. Overall- A really good beer from Legend. I will definitely drink this again.

16oz draft 1/21/15 (Sheraton Norfolk)-Pours brown with a small head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and toffee. Taste is the same with a bit more sweetness. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and tasty.

This one is sweet and tasty but not really a brown to me. Caramel i think really overwhelms this one.

Rich deep brown coloured body with a nice tan head - dense haze of brown as well, about 80% opaque. Aroma of rich malt, molasses, sugars and even bit of light fruit - very nice for the style. Medium-bodied; Rich roasted malt flavours show through with hints of earth, but a lot of sugars, caramel, toffee and especially molasses - very nice with the sweet and complex flavours at the end. Aftertaste shows some subdued complexity of malts along with a touch of alcohol notes, but the real flavour is in the sugar - nice! Overall, a much better beer than I was expecting and rich in flavours and in texture - a good beer for the style for sure. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 16-July-2014 for US$3,59 sampled after a hockey game in Washington.

Nutty and sweet. Beautiful dark but clear brown. Very thin head. Solid brown ale. Thanks Erin for helping me cross off Virginia. Still need the Dakotas and Connecticut.

Served in pint glass, dark reddish brown with thin head. Little aroma, mild taste, deceptive ABV. Clean finish, easy to drink. But still a non-distinctive beer within its style, lots of better competitors.

Transfer from BA review on 7-15-12- Poured from bomber into pint glass Appearance – Pours a medium to deep brown color with a billowy off white head. The head fades relatively fast initially but thickens, and fades more slowly over time. It does eventually fade however and leaves a medium amount of lacing. Smell – The smell of this one is quite delicious. It has a nice roasted malt base with sweet toffee accents. Caramel, brown bread, and light coffee aroma are there as well. A wonderful roasty sweet smell. Taste – A sweeter brown sugar and brown bread flavor meet the tongue. These form a base for the taste and are present throughout. Notes of the toffee and caramel come and go as the taste moves on with at the end the taste bittering up ever so lightly; bringing on some more roasted flavors. Mouthfeel – The carbonation level of this brew is a bit on the higher side with the body on the mid to higher side as well. The carbonation level creates a more refreshing style at a little expense to the creamier and roasty flavors of the body. Overall – Very easy drinking with great flavors and aromas.
