4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Having had the St. George IPA on the cask, it was time to try the Legend offering. Per the (massive) beer menu, it's "dark golden in color and dry hopped to perfection."
It arrived in a 20oz. English Imperial Pint glass with an amazingly thick and creamy white head that really reminded me of a nitr-tap brew. Distinct and impressive rings of lace on the glass as this one was drained. Color was indeed dark golden. Aromas were very different from what I'd expected. I was thinking I'd be able to pick up something resembling a hoppy note but all I got was a very pronounced "applesauce" aroma. I'd be curious to see what hops they used in dry-hopping this. Flavor, too, was not very influenced by the hops, IMHO. Pretty mild, and toned down by the conditioning in the cask. Quite malty-caramel sweet up front, tempered nicely by the hops. Finishes with a sweet, tangy aftertaste. Mouthfeel is nice...creamy smoothness coates the palate. I really like cask-conditioned beers and this one was easy to drink. One that I would certainly order again.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 7-15-12-
Poured from bomber into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a medium to deep brown color with a billowy off white head. The head fades relatively fast initially but thickens, and fades more slowly over time. It does eventually fade however and leaves a medium amount of lacing.
Smell – The smell of this one is quite delicious. It has a nice roasted malt base with sweet toffee accents. Caramel, brown bread, and light coffee aroma are there as well. A wonderful roasty sweet smell.
Taste – A sweeter brown sugar and brown bread flavor meet the tongue. These form a base for the taste and are present throughout. Notes of the toffee and caramel come and go as the taste moves on with at the end the taste bittering up ever so lightly; bringing on some more roasted flavors.
Mouthfeel – The carbonation level of this brew is a bit on the higher side with the body on the mid to higher side as well. The carbonation level creates a more refreshing style at a little expense to the creamier and roasty flavors of the body.
Overall – Very easy drinking with great flavors and aromas.

Bottle - Hoppy, dry, nutty flavor to this one. For me this is one of my go to favorite beers to drink on a regular basis. I love the slight bit and flavor on this one.

Caramel and stale fruit. Some burned sugar. At least it looked brown... Tried this at the DC beerfest with Jess, Mark, and Matt in 2014.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355 ml bottle in Vienna, VA. Pours a dark brown with a creamy tan head that lingers. Aroma is molasses, caramel, bread, malty notes. Its pretty light, and the taste is exactly like the aroma, very drinkable, but nothing really stands out to me about this beer. Palate is smooth.
