The is a pretty beer almost an amber/brown color. A well balanced beer that is great for the summer months. Unlike the porter, this is the beer that put them on the map.

Having had the St. George IPA on the cask, it was time to try the Legend offering. Per the (massive) beer menu, it's "dark golden in color and dry hopped to perfection." It arrived in a 20oz. English Imperial Pint glass with an amazingly thick and creamy white head that really reminded me of a nitr-tap brew. Distinct and impressive rings of lace on the glass as this one was drained. Color was indeed dark golden. Aromas were very different from what I'd expected. I was thinking I'd be able to pick up something resembling a hoppy note but all I got was a very pronounced "applesauce" aroma. I'd be curious to see what hops they used in dry-hopping this. Flavor, too, was not very influenced by the hops, IMHO. Pretty mild, and toned down by the conditioning in the cask. Quite malty-caramel sweet up front, tempered nicely by the hops. Finishes with a sweet, tangy aftertaste. Mouthfeel is nice...creamy smoothness coates the palate. I really like cask-conditioned beers and this one was easy to drink. One that I would certainly order again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not quite so legendary. Pours clear brown with some fizzy initial head and not much lacing. Mostly just some light hops here, can’t get much of a sense of the malt here. Finishes with light sweetness. Tap at Big Board.

Legend Brown Ale is solid if not exceptional. The aroma is the richest part of the brew. The appearance is brown but with the viscosity and head of something like a Yuengling. The taste is malty and balanced but thin in the finish. This beer pairs well with bar foods.

Medium brown/amber with a slight haze, one-finger off-white head that dissipated to a nice solid film and left nice lace. Aromas of strong caramel malt, ripe fruit and nuttiness. Flavor follows, with a touch of caramel malt up front, some generic fruitiness and then nuttiness toward the back end. Lighter to medium body, prockly carbonation, soft mouthfeel and a dry finish.

Cloudy brown with a puffy, cream head. Caramel, light chocolate aroma. Taste is caramel malt, mild nuts, creamy. A very decent, moderate brown ale. Satisfying and simple. Very solid.

Nice appearance, dark brown but still translucent, nice in the light. Healthy head, but a little sudsy. Nutty sweet aroma, molasses flavor, a bit carbonated.

12 oz bottle poured into a glass. Dark brown with a creamy colored 1 finger head that lingers. Molasses, caramel, bread, malty notes. Its pretty light, very drinkable, but nothing really stands out to me about this beer. Just plain and ordinary.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is a clear deep brown amber with an ivory head, average lacing. Big caramel notes on the nose with brown sugar and molasses. Taste is spot in with the aroma, caramel and toffee with a dark fruit presence, just a touch of hops. Finish is clean, mouthfeel a bit viscous, but what I expected from the rich malt. I got this as a beer of the month and am really enjoying it, and thankful that I have a chance to rate it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle pours clear bright brownish red with a finger of sudsy head. Nose is molasses, maple, bready, nutty. Taste is a syrupy molasses bomb, slick, dark bread. Finish is a syrupy smoky molasses mess. Pretty bad.

Draft. Nice medium brown pour, creamy off-white head. Nice lightly roasted aroma. Taste is roast, nuts, toffee, chocolate. Light bitterness. Very smooth and easy drinking.
