Copper brown pour with some haze and one finger of sandstone head. Lots of diacetyl in the nose with some leafy herbal hop character and toasted grain. Super buttery/caramelly flavor. No me gusta. Bleh
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 DiarmaidBHK (1540) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Pours brown with a thin white head. Not much on the nose. Not getting much on the tongue. Not really feeling this one.

Got this on tap in Yorktown. A good brown, very tasty, but not overwhelming.

Rating #33 for 2012
12oz bottle cool from a tulip glass. Aroma of butter scotch, brown sugar, oak, and spice. A red tinted dark brown with a cinnamon colored head. Taste of butter scotch, seltzer, and bread. Medium carbonation with a smooth clean finish. I have had this beer before but this time it was just better, will update rating later
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TURDFERGUSON (2759) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - MAY 14, 2012
Bottle. Copperish amber with a small creamy white head. Nose is carmel, bready malts, metallic sourness. Flavor is more off and all over the place. No idea on the age of this bottle but I’d guess under a year, could be much younger but who knows. A very English feel, or maybe it’s just infected.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 magsinva (315) - Virginia, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Tap at ironwood - pours a clear dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma is non-existent due to the too cold temp. Taste is mildly bitter that finishes (vanishes) cleanly. Overall, meh.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Travlr (5419) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 8, 2012
Draft at the source. Clear brown color (duh), small but thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of hazel nuts and caramel. Taste is decently balaced with a hint of light spice. Medium to light body. On style but safe.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Darwenus (98) - Virginia, USA - APR 8, 2012
Legend Brown Ale is pretty good. A little heartier and maltier than a lot of brown ales, with a little bit of a caramel thing going on. It’s nothing earth shattering, but it’s actually pretty good.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 HardingG (51) - Butler, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 6, 2012
Average but not excessively hopped. Appreciate the fact that it is average; I do wish it was more traditional.

This beer is a fantastic brown ale that I have turned in to my regular beer of choice now that it is virtually available everywhere in Richmond
