Commercial Description:
Working class Irishmen gather 'round and listen 'bout the arrival of this years version of Legend Stout! Just in time for your St. Patrick's Day celebrations plus the two weeks post and prior. Expect a very deep brown to black color with very deep red highlights. The aroma is of dark malt predominantly...roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, with very little hop character. The Irish yeast strain contributes a slight fruitiness. The flavor starts sharp and assertive with plenty of rich malt, medium hoppiness, and a bit of creaminess due to a small percentage of oats in the grain bill. The body is medium with only slight carbonation. The finish is dry and smooth. Malts for this beer include Pale, Caramel, Chocolate, and Black Roasted Barley, as well as Flaked Oats.

Draft at brewpub, sampled with maniac. Black with brown at edges, OK head. Grainy, slightly astringent dry malt nose. Faint overall. Flavor is mild, some graininess, faint coffee. Hint of hops on the finish. Drying astringency. Overall, just sort of there.
