COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Legend Golden ale is an IPA that is deep golden in color and not hopped as heavily as some other interpretations. This Legend cult classic has a full body and is very high in alcohol, at over 7% by volume. It is hopped with Mt. Hood for balance.

Pours a gold orange color with a quickly dissipating but decent at the beginning white head. Good lacing and sweetness to this one. As an IPA though I need some more hops. Hops were passed over here for a more full bodied malt flavor. That hops that are there are a slightly stinging bitter variety. Grass and orange aroma. This is closer to a golden belgian strong ale for me.

Toasted gold with big, foamy white head / Light, sour nose / Medium, clean bodied with decent, hoppy finish / Simple flavors of toasted grain and pine, with no trace of fruit / Lacking in any sort of complexity, still pleasant and easy drinking. A hoppy pilsner.

Double or triple the hops added to this one and then you’d have something I would be interested in.

Lucky for the people of Legend I am in such a good mood due to my fantasy teams destruction today i didnt give this beer a worse rating. Pours a golden color with a gigantic white head. Not much aroma to speak of. A very slight hoppy finish but you can no way call this a IPA. Very disapointing for my home state.

I ordered this beer imediately after talking with one of the brewers while visiting thier brewpub. He hyped it up to be a solid IPA, but I don’t see it. The aroma doesn’t have much of a hoppy character nor does the taste. It’s pleasant and drinkable, but it’s too light for its supposed style and definitely shouldn’t be considered an IPA.

Pours gold with huge amounts of head. Glass still had leftover head caked on after a few hours. :) Tastes of small hops, but I didn’t get a taste of an IPA. No citrus backbone, no spices, kind of blah - of this is indeed an IPA. Might have to sample this one again.

good all around ale - not too hoppy, a little less carbonation than a lot of ’standard’ ales...a bit of a sourdough aroma - but in a good way, not skunky or anything of the sort...didn’t taste at all like 7% alcohol - not at all ’hot’ - bit of a tangy after-taste...a good choice for NFL Sunday!

Big hoppy flavor. Clear gold. Lemon pith finish. Stongly bitter, lightly sweet, lightly tart. Pizza dough over hops and maltin the aroma. Perhaps I’m smelling something from the kitchen. Different and deft, and though not the most balanced brew it has good hallmarkes. Some nuttiness in the finish.
