Legend Golden ale is an IPA that is deep golden in color and not hopped as heavily as some other interpretations. This Legend cult classic has a full body and is very high in alcohol, at over 7% by volume. It is hopped with Mt. Hood for balance.

22 oz. brown bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Bought cold. Poured out a clear orangish color, with a sticky white head. Aromas are of grapefruit, some apricots also, followed by sweet malts. Flavors are of malts, hops, slight alcohol burn. Decent body, thick & rich. Good beer overall.

On tap @ the Brewpub-Clear orange color w/a slight head. Citrus hop aroma. Thought this was pretty bland for an IPA, had some hops to it but nothing to write home about. Maybe some grass & grain thrown in, but it just didn’t do a whole lot for me. Not bad, just blah! Short hop finish.

Not sure it is an IPA, but it is drinkable. Like their other offerings, a bit watery. A nice little hop buzz, but themalting fails and leaves too much candy on the tongue.

Bottle. Pours a brilliant orange ambre with a huge head. Sweet citrus, grapefruit, mango, butterscotch, and almost a slight caramel aroma. Outstanding. Flavor is along the same lines, with a lot of butterscotch up front, followed by a very nice long hop linger. I like this one!

Golden-yellow body, with a big off-white head. Smell is not so good, more mealy than it is hoppy. Taste is equally as bad, no crisp punch of hops just doughy malt and a slight amount of hop spice. Really kind of disappointing. No aftertaste at all.

It poured a golden color with a small white head. The aroma was of sweet popcorn and caramel malts. The taste was buttery, caramel, and toffee, with some lingering bitterness. An ok IPA.

Bottle shared by sliffy at PTFC. Golden pour with some sediment and a white head. Aroma was musty...cobwebs with some grassy hops. The flavor was crisp yet funky at the same time with some light malt. This one might of been a tad infected, but even still, with a thin body just wasn’t too inticing of an IPA.

Nice gold color with a good pine based aroma. Good citrus flavors with a nice ending. Not as sweet an end as the Legend Brown.

A sweet malted IPA with an almost skunky near finish to it. It’s a nice little IPA but nothing special. It’s this sweet/sour combo that I can’t quite put my finger on that isn’t unpleasant but isn’t enjoyable either. Rarely do I not form an opinion from a beer, but I’m wondering if this one had an issue which made it funky.

Super CRISP IPA. Hides the alcohol very well and rocks your taste buds. A full-tasting IPA that can still sneak up onto you due to the lack of up-front alcohol. Haven’t had this in over a year, but drank it consistently at UR -- great beer.
