Bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks alright; a fairly transparent gold with thin white lacing and some small floating sediment. Smells of bitter hops with a slightly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Ok, but forgettable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rodenbach99 (2538) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 4, 2013
Ordinaire 5/10.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 SlovakSniper (2195) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 1, 2013
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ataraxia (170) - Massachusetts, USA - APR 24, 2013
Clear golden color, frothy white head. Lemon citrus, bread, hay, some interesting floral notes, and jello powder (I kid you not). Light, sweet, and crisp, with a little bitterness in the finish. Light-bodied, very small alcohol presence.

hoppy, citrus, flowery scent. Citrusy dry fruit and hops taste a little sweet in the finish. Crisp and carbonated on the palate.

Piney, floral, and citrusy hop aromas. Clear orange-gold with a moderately lasting, white head. Dry, bitter, and very balanced. Light-medium body, lively carbonation, and finishes with a long lingering bitterness.

12oz bottle pours a clear dark gold with some clumpy white head. Nose is fairly mild, dried citrus zest, pine, hay. Flavor is stronger, pithy, orange zest, lemon zest, dried pine needles, some malt, something a little medicinal. Full, zesty finish. Not quite all there.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ContemplateBeer (1176) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Thanks to MaxwellDeus for my first Virginia beer! Aroma has some basic caramel/bready malts with light floral/spicy hop character. Appearance of copper with sticky white head. Flavor focuses more on the spicy hop character and is quite dried out; the finish is bracingly dry. Palate is medium, creamy and soft. Nice, solid traditional leaning IPA that is well-crafted.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 hayduke (2963) - Eureka, California, USA - FEB 23, 2013
From a bottle purchased in Virginia. Poured a light amber color with a whimpy white head. Nose is floral and citrus hops, but very mild. Not much aroma Medium body. Low carbonation. Flavor is floral hops with slight bitterness. Not a west coast IPA for sure.

Not a bad beer, could use a little more hop aroma and flavor. Have yet to try the Imperial and looking forward to it.
