COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hefeweizen is 45% malted wheat, and 55% barley malt. Much of the character of this beer comes from its unique yeast, which is not filtered out, so it tends to leave the beer cloudy. The wheat portion of this ale creates a light, crisp, dry brew perfect for drinking on a hot day. The beer is lightly hopped with Saaz, but the aroma and most of the flavor of this beer come from the wheat beer yeast. Beer Geek Stuff: Original gravity: 11.8„a Plato, final gravity 2.0„a P Lightly hopped with Mt. Hood and Saaz. Hazy white-yellow colored served unfiltered and cloudy. Brewed with 55% Vienna malt and 45% wheat malt. Fermented with authentic German wheat beer ale yeast.

Hazy orange color with a fluffy off-white head. Typical wheaty aroma with weheat, yeast, cloves, black pepper and herbal hops. Nice flavor profile with yeast, a light malt sweetness, bubblegum and some banana. Finish is dry and somewhat long. Body is fuller than most hefeweizens, but is not so heavy that it deviates from what hefeweizens do so well - quench your thirst on a hot summer day. Very enjoyable.

Cloudy yellow with fluffy white head. Flavor is sweet, banana, yeasty, spicey, fruity, citruisy, and wheaty. Has everything a good hefeweizen needs and all the flavors tie in nicely. Not pefect, but legend did a very respectable job.

Draft from the pitcher at the Legend brew pub, Clouded gold with an fluffy white head. Nose is light spice, bananas, light bubblegum, fruit, and wheat. Very light yeast notes. Taste is suitably wheaty, yeasty, fruity and bubblegummy. Lighter banana and berry notes. Mild sugary sweetness to this. Body is medium with some lighter carbonatiuon to it. Finishes with more wheat, light yeast, brown sugar, berries, banana, bubblegum, light spice and citrus notes. Nice hefeweizen!

Large white head, lasting, sticky lacing. Hazy light gold color. Spicey nose, coriander, citrusy. Light body, good carbonation. Citrusy, vegetal flavors, some yeastiness also. Is more in the "Wit" style than a german Hefe. Finish is dry.

What hefe? This is a trend in Virginia ... lemony wheat beer called hefe but really without the yeasty character you'd want. This is light and refreshing but there's no clove ... a hair better than Richbrau's.

Light hazy yellow, nicely lasting white head. The aroma is great, waves of bubble gum, clove, white pepper, and a hint of banana. The flavor, however, is unfortunately not quite right. The German yeasts clearly stand out, which was fantastic. There appeared, however, to be an unholy union between the hops and the clove flavors in the beer, producing an almost acrid bitterness. The Mt. Hood, perhaps? This luckily faded a good bit as the beer warmed, leaving a taste reminiscent of a clove cigarette. A little tweaking of the recipe, and this could be spectacular as opposed to being a miss.
