3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 potbeercollege (1322) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 29, 2010
Bomber. Copper orange with big, bubbly, of- white, lasting, lacy head. Aroma is pine sticky and mango grapefruit and a variety of other sweeter fruits. Flavor follows but now grapefruit takes the lead role. A whole lot of malt backbone but mostly hops shine threw, setting the feel with a chewy texture and a big bitter citrus bite. Huge IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tmoney99 (6892) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 10, 2010
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earth hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hatchattack (255) - Virginia, USA - JUN 18, 2010
22 oz. Bottle. Poured a copper color with a small white head. Big hoppy aroma. You get a big bite of hops in the beginning, then some grapefruit citrusy taste.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 zizzybalubba (919) - Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA - MAY 3, 2010
22 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Newport News, VA (not sure of the exact bottling on this but it does say 16th Anniversary and it was stocked at the store on March 2, 2010). 7% ABV. Dark orange pour with a thick, creamy off-white head. Aroma is moderately hoppy with notes of floral hops and some caramel malt sweetness. The flavor has a good amount of piney hop bitterness but is certainly balanced with a fair helping of malt (possibly too much for my taste). A good IPA.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Butters (2839) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 1, 2010
This beer has truly grown on me. I had it the first time about 2 months ago, and subsequently have been drinking it every week since. This is a great hopped beer. Not huge alc burn or flavor, but has a very pleasant warming sensation. Nose is sweet and grapefriuty (is that the amarillo?) Medium, to low carbonation. But the flavor is wonderfully balanced, with a very enjoyable lingering sweetness and bitterness from the hops. One of the best beers they have done. Good job.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 7, 2009
Pours rust/copper with an off white head. Smells of resin, spicy, floral. Tastes spicy and bitter with a resiny finish.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rflambert (5) - Virginia, USA - JUN 13, 2009 does not count
Very bitter...easy start but very strong finish...you can tell they they best at brewing "hoppy" beers but I could see this beer getting better over time...
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NDbeerdrinker (164) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 30, 2009
Pours reddish orange with a thin off white head. Aroma is nice sweet floral hops and actually a little bit nutty. Taste is those same flavors up front, but then the hops turn a little too bitter at the end adn this prevents it from being a really good beer, although it is still pretty good.
